Gears of War 3

Looks like this is the first game using the bigger disc for 360. The disc is 7.5 gb installed. The graphics and lighting show too. Beautiful game.

I keep reading about this 20 dollar gift card. I see the 10 dollar pre-order bonus on all pre-ordered games but how do you get the gift card? What am I missing? Is this just on select games?

For those that have Gears: Did they make any changes to the Boomshield in multiplayer or campaign(ex: shield bash, swing shield, etc.)? I really hope they made changes to that.

Gears 3 is freakin' FANTASTIC! I do not know if its because of my love for this franchise or that did such an excellent job with the lighting engine. It really brought those gray's, brown's, and blue's to life. From a graphics standpoint Gears 3 does come very close to Killzone 3 in terms of graphics like Flight mentioned last week.

The story so far has been cool, I just to got to the point with Baird, Cole, and Sam before stopping.

Picked it up from blockbuster ..trying their new combo pass to help lighten the load of games I'd normally buy (so far beat Resistance 3 and got about halfway thru Deus Ex)

So I'll be online every once in a while, didn't play much gears 2 online so I'm kind of a newb

Gridlock looks incredible on multiplayer. It has always been my favorite map and it took me roughly 15 games to play on it. The night setting takes the map to a whole new level.

I could tell I was playing against Gears Of War rookies. Not a single one of them knew where to find the sniper. Needless to say I was popping heads off .

Didn't have a ton of time to play this but got in a round of horde, a few minutes of beast and then a few rounds of execution and team deathmatch. I knew the multiplayer was going to be fun based off of the beta, but damn did E.PIC do a great job. Horde is fun with the new ability to build fortifications and then boss battles every 10 waves. Beast mode, I literally played it for five minutes so I don't really have any impressions yet. My teammates were idiots that kept running into turret fire.

BTW, if you had the gold lancer in the 2nd one make sure to have it on your console so it can unlock in the 3rd game.

Just a heads up, anybody who plays at just one multiplayer game (versus only, not horde or beast or coop campaign) unlocks the gold lancer and the gold hammerburst.

I was playing versus earlier tonight and suddenly I got the gold lancer and gold hammerburst. I've been playing since midnight release and don't have GoW2 saves or anything on my system but I suddenly have them plus the flame skin for the retro lancer and I don't know why.

I have read where some people are having problems with the unlocks occurring when they're supposed to, and sometimes not at all. You should've earned the gold skins after your first multiplayer game. I believe the flaming retro is tied to one of the first multiplayer achievements.
