The Wii console as a whole - I bought one around two years ago, played it for two weeks and then didn't touch it for six months. I sold it on craigslist and made a nice profit though.

The fact that there isn't a single baseball sim on the 360.

Madden on 360 up until this year.

Silent Hill, I only finished the first one on Ps1( My mom thought it was neat), the other hills were mehhh. The Nba live series from 2001- 2003, 2004 was good, but then 2005-2008, 09 was better 10 is very very good...

The rise of the Tony Hawk series was great. The fall has sucked. I loved those games. Still do. Once we got to the 360/PS3 generation it was like they forgot how to make a fun game. On pure fun factor, i'll put Tony Hawk's Underground up against any game.

MVP dying. Best sports franchise on the planet. I miss it so much. The Show fills the gap sort of, but it just isn't the same to me, for some reason.

NFL 2k dying. Enough has been said and will be said about this, so i'm not going to go into detail. I just miss it. NFL 2k was the first football game I ever really loved. NFL 2k3 was 99% of my early teenage years. That game was fantastic.

And my final disappointment, the fact that i'm willing and eager to pay 60 bucks a game nowadays. To quote Mac, we are getting blasted in the *** by game companies.

Re: Biggest Disappointments of the Decade

Exclusivity deals were the biggest disappointments by far.

Losing the NFL2K series is easily the biggest disappointment for me. While Madden still would've stumbled going into next gen, I think it would've recovered quickly if they had to contend with legitimate competition - similar to how Live has become a decent game. Without competition, we got year after year of one and done upgrades. The game still hasn't innovated much but most seem to have modified their expectations to meet what the game apparently will be.

At least with baseball there's limited competition, which is bringing about limited innovation. But if not for exclusivity I have to think baseball titles would've thrived a lot more in a competitive environment, with companies pressured to outdo each other. Still baseball innovations are far more tangible than any that have occurred in the football games.

Especially agree with the bold. I have 5 close friends that also have 360's
two of my friends are on their 3rd repair the other 3 along with myself are on our 2nd. Atleast it took 2 years before my 1st repair. I still have 2 old xboxes that are over 5 years old and still work that have never needed repairs. They really cut corners with the 360..embarassing. I think if they didn't have all those RROD's the PS3 would be in a world of trouble as far as gaining market imo.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Whoever said GTA IV, I gotta agree with that.

GTA IV reminds me of The Godfather III. Although a solid game and is some ways superior to it's predecessors, the magic just wasn't there. You didn't get the feeling that it was that stunning or that entertaining like the other games were.

Re: Biggest Disappointments of the Decade

The biggest dissapointment is that I am leaving this decade a 20 year old. Now I still make way too much time to play video games, but responsibilities kill gaming time obviously. The 2000s will definitley always be by far my most gameplayed decade of my life.

Biggest dissapointment is no more MVP. I mean, 05 was and is the greatest game I have ever played. Sports or not. Especially since 2K sucks royally.

Madden 10 was a good football game. But the dissapointments were obviously 06-09. Ugh.

I for some reason couldn't totally get into Marvel UA 2 like I wanted to.

I agree with others on GTA 4. Beautiful, clean, amazing game. And I didn't want to ever play it. Saints Row spoiled me.

Re: Biggest Disappointments of the Decade

The emergence of companies announcing that they'll be making announcements in the future.

Recent games that were disappointing imo: Haze, Alone in the Dark, Lair, Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 2, Spore, and LittleBigPlanet.

Dreamcast getting the axe. Bring back VMU's!

Heavenly Sword getting the axe. If any game deserves a sequel it's that one.

                          College Hoops getting the axe.

Licensed games. Besides Batman: AA, licensed games have continued to stink it up.

Every Madden since the move to "next-gen"

Every NBA Live since the move to "next-gen"

The NFL putting their brand up for bids, leading to EA purchasing the exclusive rights to put out an NFL football game.

2K for not manning up and going all out with All-Pro 2K (full customization, franchise, etc) just to stay on the good side of the NFL, hoping to get in on some exclusivity action, which FAILED...epically, as EA went on to renew the license.

NBA 2K's online servers. Straight up horrible

Gamers themselves. The rise of the fan boy over these past 10 years has just been ridiculous. Whether they're battling between 360 and PS3, sim or arcade/hardcore or casual, or exclusivity deals.

Biggest disappointment by far was the NFL deciding to deal with one company exclusively. 2K5 was such a great game, I'm pretty sure everyone here has thought about what it would look/play like when it made the move to "next-gen".

Seeing Xbox Live turn into a place for racist, fascist, whining hate mongers that only have balls because they are on mics.

It is very hard to find mature people on xbox live now. And what is up with always having a 7 year old saying he is going to f my mother. Where are their parents at? Thank god they put mute options on these *******s.

DreamCast getting the axe was a massive disapointment like someone said. Also the PS3 starting out at such a high price point was a problem too.
