Some more info with Senior Vice President of MTV Games Paul DeGooyer

Nrama: Are we looking at any new features, similar to Harmony being added in The Beatles?

DeGooyer: There's a couple little things, I don't know what we've announced yet. Harmony IS going to be in it, and basically, it takes into its purview all of the Rock Band platform.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

This band deserves its own game as much as I deserve a Grammy award...

I really want to play their Dookie era stuff, but not at 60 bucks...

I agree, but I still don't see the need for them to have their own complete game. Just release their greatest hits as a DLC pack for RB2 and it will sell like crazy.

If they do Green Day the same justice they did The Beatles, I don't see what the big deal is with the price.

                        Re: Rock Band: Green Day

Though the developer announced that it is including the "critical song list" for the band, Harmonix performed just six tracks from Green Day: Rock Band tonight:

                        "Brain Stew"/"Jaded" (played together)
                        "Hitchin' a Ride"
"Wake Me Up When September Ends"
                        "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"
                        "American Idiot"

Because Green Day often harmonizes, Green Day: Rock Band supports two singers with split vocal lines for sharing the lyrics. During the performances, this appeared to work without flaw. In addition to featuring well-made models of Green Day, the in-game trio performed on a concert stage adorned with features from tours, such as the heart-shaped hand-grenade from the cover of the "American Idiot" album.

At this point, though, value is a major part of the question. MTV confirmed again that the track list in Green Day: Rock Band is fully exportable on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (not Wii), so you can play any of the tracks in this disc with other editions of Rock Band (unlike The Beatles: Rock Band).

                          June 8th

That's right, folks -- Harmonix has just revealed that Green Day: Rock Band will be available for all come June 8 on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Up to 6 players (3 mics; 3 instruments) will progress through the career of the trio, unlocking collectible images (more than 100, apparently) and some 40 minutes of "rare and unreleased" footage from interviews, outtakes and performances along the way.

These songs can be exported, right? If we export them to RB2, will we have a harmonizing vocals option?

They can be exported, don't know about the harmonizing.
