It's already dropped multiple times on the 360 and PC over the past week.

Jake Busey as The Radioman also stole the show for a bit. He's constantly talking and having good one liners throughout the game.
I loved the part when you're across from the tower. He was fantastic there.

No way I'm paying 60 bucks for 7 hours of gameplay.
I take it you don't go to the movies? Or buy blu rays?

I just don't enjoy video games as much as most of you guys here on OS. Very few games really excite me nowadays. Paying $60 for a game that will only last me 7 hours would be a bad investment for me.

If it's something you have nothing problem doing? Cool, good for you.

I never said I didn't enjoy video games. What I said was, I don't enjoy them as much as most of the posters here. There are other things I'd rather spend my money on. Which is why I stated above, that I opened a Gamefly account.

It is a cheap alternative to having to spend $60 for 7 hours of gameplay. Most non sports titles just don't offer enough value at $60. You may not feel the same way but, that is just my opinion.

I'm not sure why you're taking this personally.

Let's just end this now so the thread can get back on topic.

I can see where Aerobee is coming from. Hell, normally I'm one to say that if a single player campaign doesn't offer at least 8-10 hrs, then it doesn't get my money. This game was an exception, due to the superb story that I know I'll play more than once, but generally, no way I'd be dropping $60 on a six hour game... there's a reason I have yet to play MW3 or BF3. Online is nothing more than about a 30 minute distraction for me, as I could generally care less about that being in games. In fact, outside of some co-op, online gaming could go away tomorrow and I wouldn't blink and eye.

I just think it's silly to say "meh, not long enough for me." Going to the movies will set you back 10-15 bucks for a 90 minute to 2 hour experience. Blu rays are sometimes double that.

So a game that has an exceptional single player isn't worth your money because it isn't long enough? Are we just buying hours?

That mentality is why so many games feel the need to tack on MP or hold back content for DLC, it's damaging to the industry.

So yeah, I take it personally. You should too, if you want to continue to have good games come out.

                    Read this: http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/...s-state-of-aaa

Games are way too big as it is. Renting a game or buying used because they didn't go longer (nevermind what a 20 hour SP campaign would do to the pacing of the game), does nothing but ensure that developers and publishers are going to go all in over and over again when it comes to designing games. Which means games will need to sell more and more to make a profit, which means more studio closures, which means less games.

Well you can't watch the movie again. You can watch a blu-ray again, you can play through this again (and you should) but unless you're a sneaky scofflaw then you're only going to be watching the movie once.

Its not an exceptional single player. It was hardly a challenging game once you start to hunker down and begin to pop out, shoot, and pop back, AI squad control is crap, and enemy AI is even worse.

Even the cover mechanics weren't great, I died a couple of times trying to get behind low cover when there are objects around it and the game was just not registering the cover command.

It's biggest (only?) selling point is its story - which has me wondering whether it WOULD have been better as a movie rather than a game.

I agree with the point you are making, you can't measure 'fun' in hours, but this wasn't super addictive gameplay and it barely lasted 4-5 hours.

No way it has any replay value when the best parts are the cut scenes.

It is for us. It may not be for you, and that is just fine.

Lets not get on here on try to steal anyones joy.

Im going to ask you a question and please be honest. What level did you play on? I know on normal the game is easy, but on the two harder levels the game is much harder, and presents a better challenge.

I played the game right from the start on the hard level, and it was a nice challenge. No aim assist and the A.I was more accurate, and smarter.

Now im on the harderst level the game offers, and this game is klling me. You feel you had a walk in the park then jump to that level, and I can guarantee you would not be making the same statement you made above. They nail you in a instant and the bullet damage is much greater. You must have great reflexes , and more patience. Trust me it is very challenging, and right from the start.

When you make a comment on the level. Make it on all the levels. Its the only fair thing to do.
