    Re: Portal 2

If anybody on the PS3 (and maybe PC? I guess we could play through Steam) wants to play some co-op, let me know. I finally completed the single player, and I'm ready to try the co-op.

I'll likely want to do it next week when I'm all moved back home and done with single player.

You guys are making this game sound very good. I plan on renting it this week to see what the hype is about. Am I missing out on anything important by not playing the first one?

I would ask that you play through the first one, for the sake of the puzzles and the "character development" and "storyline." It shouldn't take you more than five hours to beat, and it will help you understand what you're doing in the next one (even though it introduces things just fine).

I'm late on this, but this game is WIN.

I don't think there's another way to put it. Valve hits another one out of the park. Simply fantastic.

So, does anybody know whether or not this game truly has cross-platform saving available through Steam? What I mean is, can I save a file from my PS3 and then open it on my PC through Steam?

I could have sworn this was one of the perks to having this game on PC as well. Perhaps I misunderstood?

Okay, I'm on the very first stage of this game, and I have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm at the part where there's broken glass, with mirrors all over the place (there's also a block that you can pick up too. Sorry, I've never played Portal and I waaaay confused here. Any help is much appreciated. wish they'd give you an objective or something.

Scooby, the basic objective of the game is to get to the end of each level (like most). There is a strategy to all of them though, and they all start involving using portals.

Question, do you have the portal gun yet? If so, are you only shooting blue portals so far?

I wish I could get back to the level and record it for you right, now, but I don't think I can do any level choosing.

I do not have the portal gun yet. It just seems like I'm doing the same thing. At one point I did see a check mark instead of an X when I put the block on the big red button, but after that, I was stuck.

Do you know what part it is exactly? I'll just start a new game and find that spot for you, then record.

EDIT: Chances are you have to put the block on the red button to keep the door open, so that you can go through. I'll try and find this place for you, though.

                              Portal 2 DLC release date

The first set of free Portal 2 DLC, titled Peer Review, launches on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 4th October, developer Valve has announced.

The pack continues the story of Aperture bots P-Body and Atlas as they make their way through a new co-op test track, once again trying to outwit GLaDOS.

On top of that, there's a new single player and co-op Challenge Mode, and leaderboards are now live too.

While you're waiting, the third and final installment of the Portal 2 soundtrack is now up for download free of charge, including Jonathan Coulton's ace end credits tune, Want You Gone.
