i love fighting games. street fighter being my favorite. the only other fighting game i have liked since i was little was MK.

after Mk 3 i fell off the bandwagon until i played MK vs DC. I enjoyed that game. MK 2 was my favorite.

since this a throwback game and since everyone has posted glowing reviews, im gonna pick it up. plus i wanna play that story mode.

Doing a babality on Johny Cage reminds me of a friendship for some reason.

Also any tips for those people who stay in the crouched blocking position?

My friends who use Baraka and Lou Kang stay in it all the time against me and Smoke. Notice it online as well.

I don't think a throw is blockable from a crouched blocking position. Not sure, I don't have the game in front of me, but try that.

Maybe also try out a character with a ground / ceiling special move. Noob Saibot (falling black hole) and Sheeva (teleport stomp) come to mind. Maybe also Scorpion (hellfire) and Sub-Zero (ground freeze).

Nightwolf also has the lightning attack as well. I've enjoyed using him a bit.

question and a little gripe...just nit picking really not a big issue loving the game. Raidens projectile attack..didn't it used to be lightning? I really don't like it much right now, it just doesnt seem right for Raiden. Just a little thunder ball that sounds weak when it hits. With the graphics this game has wish it looked better.

This game is near-perfect. I love it. I was a huge MK guy during 1-3 and this is just bliss for me.

I knew babalities were in the game, but accidentally did one while meaning to enter cyrax's 2nd fatality. Got an achievement too, good stuff.

Thanks, I know of them things but they call me a spammer when I do them stuff because it takes thief blocking away. It annoys me because it's the only thing I can do to hurt them when they go into that position.

Block btw isn't blockable but they uppercut when I get close enough to grab. I'll have to get beter with another char. because smoke is dead in the water when they do the blocking thing. Sucks to.

So then move in close bait them into throwing an uppercut, block it, then it leaves them wide open. Or do what Krioniq said and pick someone like Scorpion and spam the fire move. They'll probably get pissed, but its their fault for turtling in a corner.

Are you talking about the BK, Down+BP, FP combo? That's not really practical unless you're quick enough to confirm that initial BK (and I doubt anyone is quick enough to do so online). I don't know how safe it is so I'm not going to say you should use that, unless you just want to mash it out and live with the results.

Candy, Smoke has a single hit over head. If people are duck-blocking you use his Back-FP move (Step Strike). It combos into BK and is easily confirmed. After throwing a few of those in there it should open them up a bit. If it doesn't, keep using it. It's safe if you combo into the BK (it's probably safe by itself, not sure) and the BK kicks them away from you, allow you to go into something else like Smoke Cloud or his teleport.
