I had a couple times where it wouldn't let me join a game but I think they were both my fault.

The first, I was trying to join a friends game and I kept getting a connection error. I realized later he was in a ranked match that had already started and you can't jump in those mid-match. IMO, the error message should have told me that instead of just saying connection error.

The second, I think I was trying to enter a game room that no longer existed as after three or four connection attempt/errors I refreshed the list and that room was no longer there.

Also at some point while playing single player I got logged out of the servers and didn't know it. When I went to play MP I got a message saying the servers weren't available. Again, I think the message should have told me I wasn't logged in or better yet tried to auto re-log me. Instead I had to push triangle to force it to reconnect. Everything was fine after that.

Sorry for all these consecutive posts too. I'm just trying to get the info out there but kind of keep topics separate at the same time.
I'll either use classic or racing probably will play with each one for a bit and then decide. No need to apologize for getting the info out their it shouldn't matter who posts it as it is very helpful.

Is there any campaign? Or is it just a "multiplayer mayhem" type game?

Has anyone been able to try out the party system yet and give the matchmaking a real test?

Nope, I need some people to sign online and we can check it out.

So far, this game is just plain crack. Everyone who is complaining about the controls must not have played the original TM games, because it's exactly like they used to be (except machine gun/special mapped to L2/R2 have been swapped).

The levels are fantastic. They are much more arena-based when it comes to interacting with the environments. I really want to try out that Nuke mode when we get a lot of people in on this. Connecting to games has been very difficult so far.

By the way, can somebody invite me to the OS clan?

Swapped secondary and special weapons? A bell just went off in my head. Multiple times today in the heat of battle I found myself holding R2 and occasionally tapping the L2 button. That can't still be muscle memory from way back in my TW2 days can it?

I set that up earlier today when I was messing with settings. I'll gladly relinquish it to an OS vet though if you want to take it over.

Finished the single player. That was pretty tough with some frustrating parts, but worth it to see the awesome live-action video.

I spent a few minutes starting at it, in Best Buy and couldn't make myself spend $60+ on it..

I spent countless hours playing TM 1 & 2, but like Dookie, I just think I'll be disappointed. Maybe I'll buy it with a price drop in the long distant future..

I've been playing for a little while this afternoon and have been enjoying it a lot. The online has been running great for me and I think it's pretty fun. Seems a lot faster than the single player but I just played a couple levels on normal. I'm using the default controls and it definitely takes a little bit of getting used to accelerating with square but I'd rather have all the weapons on the shoulder buttons. I'll be on later in the day if anyone wants to join up. cake612 on PSN.

Disappointed that network errors are still prevalent in the final game. It's mostly fine if you play by yourself, but with friends in a party, it's tough to get a ranked game. Also, I can understand splitting the party up in ranked games, but when it's just me and one other friend, why is it so hard to play on the same team?

Me too. I tried for a good 30 minutes Tuesday night to get into a room only to get booted in less then 2 minutes after the game started with a connection error.
Not being able to manually select what team you're on is also ridiculous. What's the point of clans if you can't control that?

Edit: Did you guys recreate an OS clan?

Long winded message from Jaffe, basically they are aware of the match making issues and are working on it.
