    Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

I played through this over the past week or so and, while not a bad game, it has some faults that really wore me down once I got about 2/3 of the way through. Too much side questing, not near enough main questline involvement. I also hated the camera, it didn't snap back near fast enough.

I did like the combat, but felt there needed to be a lock on mechanism. Speaking of, there definitely needed to be slots for more abilities, it ended up limiting the combat and making you have a lot of wasted abilities.

I nearly quit the game at one point when I turned in the Long Overdue quest
    Spoiler

So I ejected the game, packed it into the gamefly envelope and if I hadn't forgotten to pop it into the mailbox. Next night I just opened it back up and finished, and I am glad I did because it had a pretty solid end. The demo part of the game wasn't great (turned me off from buying at least), shortly after was much better, then it got a little soft but finished well.

I got this game last month at Best Buy with the $30 off coupon and have not been able to put it down. Love pretty much everything about it other than the low XP level cap.

I haven't had time yet, but I got it with the same deal at BB. I enjoyed the demo a while back and once I get through a whole bunch of life things (2 separate week vacations, buying house/moving) I hope to dive into this.

It's great. I got Skyrim last year so that's why I didn't play this immediately. I like the combat and art design more in this game, but Skyrim definitely was a larger game, but this game is a good size too. If I had to compare the two games, I'd have to say this one is my favorite.

I know im a little late to this party but i bought this game on the cheap (yay ebay) last week & ive been enjoying it. I used to be a WoW addict & this plays similar to it. Ive only put six hours into it but seems like a good game so far. Anyone still play this?

It's fun. Gets a little repetitive, but it's fun while your leveling up. My archer was just a badass.

I played it for about an hour yesterday after a several month break. I never got that far (9 ish hours i think). I agree it gets repetitive. It's also pretty easy. Almost too easy.

Yeah, i have noticed that its been pretty easy, ive been destroying everything. Was hoping it was just the beginning and then it would get harder

                      Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

So I finally got back into this after taking a year long break. I had logged about 25 hours or so last April until I put it away, as I just got bored with it.

Starting it back up, i've logged about 30 hours in the last couple of weeks, and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I have a feeling that Skyrim may have influenced the lack of time spent on this amazing title, as now that i'm back into it, I see how great of a game it is. Such a shame about the studio.

I had been playing as a full on Might character just bashing through everything with a greatsword. I decided to re-roll into a full on mage however after spending a decent amount of time crafting some good gear. I gotta tell ya, oblitering countless foes with spells and picking up the scraps with my chakrams is a BLAST. Can't wait to mess around with the various spells some more and see what kind of havoc I can wreak.

I finally bought this via Xbox Live download and am really liking it so far. I've been strictly doing side quests and haven't even touched the main one as I am trying to gain my footing.

Feels a lot like Fable/Skyrim/Dragon Age. Really liking the fighting system too.

I actually just started this on Friday night as well. (It was a PS+ free game a while back). Bit of a mixed bag overall, took me a little bit to get into it, but I found myself last night in the "just one more side quest" mode, so it's doing it's job pretty well.

I started off thinking I'd run a pure mage. But, as I started experimenting a bit, I realized you could have mixed fates (Finesse + Sorcery, for instance, is the one that caught my eye.) So now I've got a mage, whose main weapon is a longbow, secondary is a scepter. Kind of going for a long range mage / assassin hybrid. Really liking it so far.

However, the PS4 and BF4 will arrive on Thursday, so who knows how much more time I'll wind up putting into this in the near future. I do know I have no intention of getting rid of my PS3, so I'll come back to it at some point. But I imagine the initial PS4 rush will take me away from this one a bit.

                          Solid game, though, for sure.

The combat is fluid and fun imho. Probably my second favorite combat in an RPG behind Dragon's Dogma.

I’m always nervous buying a reboot as I tend not to like older games. I tried Skyrim and didn’t like the combat but this combat looks better (more varied and less clunky). It’s half price too. I may cave lol.
