The K/D thing I referred to was just a matter of me saying that I was actually able to handle similar situations, since they are both FPS games. I wasn't really playing much differently in terms of how to fire a weapon on a player, which requires aiming and shooting. It just feels way, way off on BF (which is probably the only game it does feel off for me, and I play games with right-stick turning like KZ and SOCOM that feel less off for me).
Personally, this beta feels a little unstable. It has been very fun, but I am a little disappointed. I thought the graphics would be better but I'm not just worried about graphics. The gun play is good, but there's just so many glitches, which is most likely why there's a beta. Good thing they did a beta, hopefully they get these issues fixed for day 1, because I also am planning on buying right away.

I changed it to "condescending" cause you used the same line at the end...

"... and that is me, personally."

Anyhow... is what it is. I hold nothing personally against you, you know this. We have both been here long enough to know how we are.

I suggest if you are having issues with control, slow your gameplay down as a player. It is much more methodical than CoD ever was, and even more so than MAG/SOCCOM. Those are still very fast paced comparative.

This game is about working with your team more, and not just rushing and zerging like a madman (even though you can play that way if you like).

Points are rewarded for staying alive so your squad can spawn, and if that means hiding your last to live *** behind a wall till they spawn cause enemy fires is coming at you, than do so. It is NOT camping, it is war.

Healing, ammo supply, spotting, kill assists, etc etc. Like canes said, you slow it down, start working with a good squad, communicating, not being "lone-wolf", and the game and your skill will surprisingly open up.

It feels "off" to you because MAG/SOCCOM, while "team focused" sped their games up BIG TIME like most other clones out there now, to mirror the CoD experience. They are no longer slower and more methodical in which this game is. Sure they try and promote team play, but they are still way more run and gun fast paced now like CoD. Just because this and CoD are both FPS games, does not make the situations similar. At all. The mechanics are that much different in the gun play and movement to separate them (and all those arcade perks, etc), where those play styles do not mesh well if used in conjunction with each other. Even trying to slow down and play more tactical in CoD, you get owned... its almost the polar opposite of this. That is why I was never a good CoD player with warfare games, because I am more tactical, and that game you have to be moving and run and gunning. Though give me UT PC, and it's on like Donkey Kong.

You are used to that experience because that is what dominated the market for so many years. There is nothing wrong with that either. Just do not go to CoD like you did, and say it was a "similar situation" yet my K/Ds were higher... it is not similar only other than they both have guns and FPS, CoD revolves around lone wolf K/D ratios, thus their game will excel that way, due to the pacing and perks, hit boxes, etc. The situations are not the same. Lone wolf in here = dead puppy... a lot.

My fault. I meant for that to be a little more humorous than condescending.

I'll just say that I read, understand, and agree. I just can't play this game is all. This is the only shooter I've ever had trouble handling.

I can safely say I suck at it lol. This is not just in reference to K/D.

          No worries.

What I suggest is going in the PS3 Online thread, and jumping in a squad with those OS guys. Work with them and watch them and ask them pointers, etc. You will be shocked that with proper guidance how much it will open up to you.

Oh, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I see what I'm supposed to do, and I know what I'm supposed to do, but it's just not coming together for me. Think Barry Zito.

Just give it time. I was always good at Battlefield games, but once the beta dropped I was terrible. Not just with my K/D ratio, but with helping my team too. Now that I've gotten used to the pace and mechanics of this one I am back to my old BF self. I am getting a good K/D ratio and leading my team or being near the top because I am constantly reviving and healing people with the occasional ammo supply.

I know what you mean. I am the same way with CoD. I am mediocre, not horrible, but not upper echelon either.

It is hard for me to play modern weaponry shooters in the CoD way. I have always been more "tactical, and team play" with them since Raven Shield on the PC (I heart that game SOOOOOO much).

I mean, I am filthy at UT games... but for some reason, modern warfare shooters I can not adjust to the CoD way... I always mentally go at them with the BF2/R63:RS approach, and thus I get dead in CoD. A lot.

And that is the thing, the FPS genre has been so much more arcady lately (feeds our ADD society we all suffer from ), and faster paced, that we (BF players) all have been thrown off. Even I was thrown off at first, but am picking it up big time. Like riding a bike.

It is not for everyone obviously, Halo and CoD style games have dominated for years... but for those of us who do like it, it is pure bliss.

I was smiling earlier when I kept getting suppression assists. Sooo awesome to lay down fire strategically and be rewarded for it.

That is another one I forgot about... I was getting them yesterday too and was LOVING it! And normally I am not a light machine gun user, but I just may now cause of this mechanic when it hits launch.

I like spot bonuses myself (get 10 for spotting an enemy that gets killed by a teammate). So easy to hit Q as soon as you line somebody up and even if I get taken out, my teammates will be alerted to the position. Obviously it would be more useful for snipers (especially if they don't shoot and watch instead), but I use it a lot with an AR too. Also, my worry about spot spamming from earlier is not an issue because it seems you can only hit spot 3 times and then it'll lock out for a period of time.

Can you only spot while aiming down the iron sights?

Well, i would really, really appreaciate some tips regarding:

                              - How to kill more effectively ? (I keep hitting my opponents repeatedly, more than 1 shot, and they wont die ... me on the other hand, 1 and dead ... maybe is my connection ?)

                              - How to pinpoint enemies for others to see them ?

                              - How to revive teammates ?

                              - How to get suppression and assist supression bonuses ? (I oftenly shot at enemies when I see the going after teammates or when a bomb has been placed and they are camping it while my teammates are defusing it)

                              - How to do not go into unintended prone so often ?

                              - How to fight those dreaded flashlights ? (They seem overpowered, specially under sunlight)

                              Am on PS3 btw.

                              P.S:
                              - As you may have noticed, I am struggling badly. Apparently need new controllers (both have issues with dpad and sticks, thus the issues seem enhanced with this beta for me) and also tons and tons of practice and tips. - - Please dont fear my lack of efficiency, I tend to be good at this game once I get the hang of them.

There certainly is something wrong with hit detection. The first day I played I was in a firefight with some guy, we both emptied out our clips point blank and swapped to our pistols, but neither of us got hurt. Some guys came along and eventually killed me. There's not really much tips to say for shooting. I shoot in bursts of 2-3 bullets from medium to long range, and I unload up close. That seems effective to me in just about every shooting game I have played.

Press select on the controller to spot them.

I believe the supression is just for shooting at them in general. Their screens get blurred which makes it tougher for them to do anything.

You'll need to unlock defibrillators and find a dead teammate to revive them.

If you just click the right analog, you'll only crouch. If you hold it in you'll go prone.

As for the flashlights, I don't seem to have problems with them. It actually helps me. I don't have good eyes so I can't spot movement in the tunnels as well, but it most certainly helps me if I just see some random lights flashing. I just unload in that general area and it seems to get me the kill.
