I generally agree. BF3 does stand on it's own, no need to play the others to get into BF3, and the multi is what this series is all about.

To the campaign...I felt it was a little slow at first and too derivative of Black Ops, but it has some really great levels, loved the jet level, and it finishes strong, in my opinion. So I wound up enjoying the campaign.

I don't understand all the hate the campaign receives. Sure it was VERY similar along the lines of Black Ops because of the interrogation aspect but overall I thought it was awesome. I think it's way underrated but we all know the BF series is about multiplayer but still props to the short campaign; it's certainly worth a play-through.

This question has been asked multiple times.

It really boils down to what you're interested in. There are objective games in Call of Duty, but there's not as much emphasis on this. The game modes in BF3 are Conquest (Capture/Defend Objective throughout the map (often huge maps), Rush (Defend/Attack a set of M-COM Stations and capture them to move forward through the map, until you get through the entire map), and regular Team Deathmatch.

Call of Duty offers a few extra game modes, but the problem always seems to be the majority of the people in those game modes, don't play it how it's supposed to be played and treat it like TDM.

Now, there's still some BF3 folks who do that, but it's not that often you run across it and the game urges team work with classes such as assault/medic(heal and revive), engineer (blow **** up like tanks and choppers), support (ammo and light machine gun heaven!), and recon (survey the area and help team mates spot and locate enemy soldiers).

So, in short.. if you're looking for more objective based/team based games play BF3.

Unless you can find a good group of guys to play with, there's usually not much team work going on in MW3.

MW3 is a fine game for what it is. It does 'COD' very well and all that entails from the COD style of fast-paced multiplayer TONS of multiplayer modes, and Spec Ops/Survival is a hoot, great co-op fun. It's a fun change-of-pace from BF3, IMO. But my commitment to MP and preferred game is BF3.

BF3's MP is slower paced, but much grander in scale and more tactical in (proper) execution/play. It's all about the team, objectives, and points. W/L ratio and points for doing your job matters more than K/D. Also, there's vehicles to use, and the MP just has amazing spectacle with the large maps and the incredible sound. In short, class/team-based tactical objective-oriented WARFARE. I also enjoyed BF3's campaign...to which...

I hope you weren't interpreting my post as hate, because that wasn't my intent. I did wind up really enjoying the campaign, especially in it's latter stages. DEFINITELY, it's worth playing! And, it's much easier for me to follow than MW's three-game opus LOL.

Nothing really memorable about it tbh and I would just wait for Bad Company 3 to supply the campaign part of the battlefield series.

The idle conversations between these three are just priceless!

You know what's irritating. On Caspian and Firestorm, yesterday, my team was getting rolled. We kept capturing the objectives but they would just get neutralized and taken back. It got to the point that we were being dominated on Caspian and that shouldn't happen. The root cause? I die and notice at the RU and US Deployments at least 6-8 of my teammates running around waiting for either a damn helicopter or jet to appear. Once one did, it was like a mad dash to get in. Those that lost just waited for another one. I was fired up. This one guy kept doing it so I hopped into a jeep, drove full speed, jumped out, and watched as the jeep ran him over thus killing him. I know, it's petty and a jerk move, but I was heated. The funny thing is the guy was fired up, respawned got in the jeep, and tried to mow me down.

Didn't interpret it that way at all. Just surprised to see somebody else, like myself, actually give the campaign a little love.

I finally unlocked the M320 Smoke rounds. It helps out tremendously as attackers on Rush. The effects of the smoke are much improved over the smoke in BC2.

Attacking "A" of the second set of MCOMs in the subway tunnel on Operation Metro, I used smoke on one of the doors entrance. Every enemy in the room started shooting at the smoke giving away their position. My squad flanked and entered the opposite door killing the enemies. Another teammate and I were the last one standing. I arm the MCOM and my squad spawns on me. I smoke the room again to hide our positions and we take the base.

It was a memorable match because I got 3 medals in that one match. 33,100 award points.

IR Smoke canister on ground vehicles work like flares except you want to launch the smoke when you hear the beeping sound. It gives you time to get behind cover.

I'll switch this out if I notice the other team is not using the javelins and put on the Thermal Optics.

You've inspired me. I'm going to try using smoke mortars (I believe smoke rounds are open to me) by first announcing it to my team then launching on a five count so they'll know when to move on the flag/MCOM.

Smoke is open on the mortars immediately but it hard to tell if they hit correctly. With the 320 attachment you can see the hit and watch your team use the cover. It also works indoors.

On the same match I also smoked the ticket booth and the room behind B in the tunnels. The enemy was pissed because they couldn't see outside of their rooms.

                                I just figured this out:
