Re: BioShock Infinite
The way she interacted with the environment stuck out to me. I'd put my controller down to check my phone and when I look back up she's trying to pick up a beach ball or eavesdropping on a conversation. My favorite situation was when I'd spend way too much time exploring an area for items and she's leaning against the wall like "hurry the hell up!"
I agree, the AI wasn't a ground breaking leap forward by any means. But they did a good job portraying her curiosity.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: BioShock Infinite
Finished it a couple days ago, i enjoyed it but i feel it`s overrated. Only having 2 guns at one time sucked and the gun variety sucked in general.
The game though is so fluid and does what it wants to do really well as i didn't come across a bug. Also i thought some of the vigors were kinda crappy and lacked creativity.
I don't know what hell was going on in the story but i enjoyed it anyways. Overall solid game but not memorable like far cry 3(my favourite game of the last 12 months)was.Last edited by Iadf; 04-10-2013, 02:22 AM.Comment

Re: BioShock Infinite
Just innocently read this on IGN from an article on "dark character dark methods" it mentions
SpoilerBooker has gambling debts and has to give up his daughter to repay for it. Kind of alludes to Elizabeth being his daughter..
Did they ruin part of the story for me? Cuz I don't remember that coming up in my short time with the game.
I had just received the electric vigor by the way.Comment

Re: BioShock Infinite
Yeah that's an important part of the story but don't worry, much more happens. I actually had the big twist spoiled for before I got the game.Just innocently read this on IGN from an article on "dark character dark methods" it mentions

Fortunately, it's all about the presentation in the end. I was still in shock knowing how it would play out! Playing through the game and watching the final scenes from that perspective is extremely rewarding even if you know what happens. I'm actually enjoying me second play though more than the first because I understand what everything means/symbolizes.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: BioShock Infinite
Loving this game. I guess my only complaint is that the colors seem to be a bit washed out (PS3). I actually like the two gun max rule. I'm going for the trophies so it makes it easy for me to move on to a different gun once I've completed the requirement. I've already gotten rid of the pistol.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: BioShock Infinite
Just completed my second play through, this time on 1999 mode and got all the achievements (first time I've ever done that). It was a much better experience than playing on medium. Had to explore everywhere and stay on my toes during combat. Not having the navigation arrow encouraged me to discover every possible room to find all of the voxophones. The most difficult achievement, Scavenger, which requires you to never purchase items from the Dollar Bill actually helped me save up for the badass upgrades. (Charge can be an absolute killer). I didn't change up my Gear much during the first play thorough but it can make all the differenceSpoilerespecially against those damn sirens!
As for my second view of the ending....SpoilerThe voxophones from the Lutece twins really paint a picture of what will happen. Should have listened more closely the first time around.
Going to put the game down for awhile. Hopefully the first DLC comes out in the summer. Easily a top 3 game all time for me. Picking between Infinite and the original Bioshock is almost impossible.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: BioShock Infinite
Just started the game. The introduction felt very abrupt. Thought I'd get a chance to see more of the place before the powers / shooting kicked in. My memory may be waning here, but I seem to recall Bioshock taking you slowly, letting you get used to something, and then adding to it, where as Infinite throws you into the water and hopes you can swim (with powers / shooting, etc).
Doesn't make it bad by any means, just felt very abrupt to me from an introduction standpoint.Comment

Re: BioShock Infinite
I'm not someone who plays FPS all the time and I'd never played Bioshock before, so I think my approach was a little more bare bones than most. I mentioned on another site that I was playing the game like it was Golden Eye, meaning I cherished the rocket launcher and never rid of it and almost always seemed to opt for a machine gun or shotty as my primary weapon.
I also really did not take advantage of the vigors or skylines. I'm going to give this game another play through just to spread my wings a little bit and explore all routes of combat. Like others said, I also feel it'll be fun to pick up on all the hints during my second trip through.
I have my doubts about being able to find all the voxophones though. I really felt I was pretty thorough the first time through and I still think I'm 10-13 short.
Regarding the final battle:
SpoilerYou guys blew my mind with the simple off head reference to riding the skyline the whole time. I kept dying because I was just standing in front of the giant target trying to gun down rocket launcher folk from a distance
Also, regarding the post about how things escalate relatively quickly. I couldn't agree more. In fact, the first half of this article (mostly the photos and the captions) pretty much echoed my exact thoughts while going through the game myself:
Spoilerhttp://kotaku.com/bioshock-infinite-is-insanely-ridiculously-violent-it-470524003
That is interesting, for I felt quite the opposite. I mean, when things jumped off, it was insanely abrupt, but I felt I had a lot of time to get a feel for the game. Were you a point A to point B person? In my case, I'd never played Bioshock before and I was in awe of my surroundings, so I spent a lot of time exploring and whatnot. Then at the fair, I made sure to try out as many booths as possible so I could learn how to use things. This went on long enough for me to wonder if I'd misheard what type of Bioshock actually was. And then that thing happened...Just started the game.
