That's probably the reason the multiplayer is on a two week delay.

It's probably for the best. Most of us will have a feel for the game by then.

I hope the multiplayer comes on the disk and just requires a relatively small patch. I can't handle any more ridiculous downloads on the PS3. My internet isn't that great. It works well for playing shooters and sports games online, but not at downloading things from PSN.

I'm in the same boat. I don't need 100% but I'd like to complete the main story. Luckily I'm unemployed at the moment but it's looking like I'll be getting a job the first half of October. Would allow plenty of late night sessions spent gaming into the wee hours of the morning.

Guys, I'm trying to decide whether to invest a little more for the special edition. I know what's in it, but just wonder if it's really worth the extra money. For me, it comes down to weapons @ ammunation and the special ability regeneration. Does anyone know if these things will be available later in the game (specifically the weapons)?

Fear of spoilers is enough to keep me out of public online games until I finish single player.

Private games with OS'ers is another story. As soon as I'm given the option in-game (I assume it'll be something like having to get the phone first in GTA4), I'll hop in with you guys if I see you playing online.

BTW, am I the only person who hasn't watched a second of video from this game, in order to be blown away when it actually comes out?

That was my plan. I obviously failed.

I just took on that dilemma moments ago when I went to trade in a couple games and pre-order GTA V. I told the guy I might be interested in the Special or Collectors edition, he said they no longer had the Special edition for 360 then went over the differences in what the collectors edition had over the other two (which I already knew). I asked if I could pre-order the Standard Edition then before release if I change my mind upgrade to the Collectors. He said I could, BUT there would be no guarantee there would be any more Collectors editions available, he said I could pre-order the Collectors then if I change my mind downgrade to the Standard as there would always be some of those available. So that is what I did.

I am more interested in the DLC items than anything (especially the vehicles), the Hat and Security Deposit Bag will probably end up on Craigslist or eBay.

Also, as another person mentioned, this game looks to offer an overwhelming gaming experience that I think makes it worth the price tag (especially if I can sell the items I don't really want for a few bucks).

I already have release day off, so I can't wait to go to the Midnight release and get to playing!!

Even the file size is badass.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

That's actually less than I was expecting.

Most games have to create more environments. Rockstar just has one massive environment all loaded at once. Less memory, more random access memory (or just a guess).

I agree though. Maybe that is not including the big install you have to do with it as well (at least on the disc version).

I did it in GTA IV (check my achievements if you don't believe me) and I will damn sure do it again.

I also got 100% in RDR, so there.
