I still remember when my little sister (probably around 12 at the time) walked in while I was watching Fight Club, and it just so happened to be during the ecstatic sex sequence where HBC is topless and wailing in song.

She kind of left quickly, but was asking what I was watching. I said "Fight Club." She didn't get it, and I really didn't know how to explain it.

I like the paragraph where they're talking about what words are gonna be used. It's not like we haven't heard those words in the GTA Universe before.

That about sums it up for me. If you look at the development of this game, you see how it all goes back to the game and how the people behind the game (not the system) is where the magic happens.

Rockstar makes the decision to spend time on the game, rather than little spurts of development on annual releases and the return is always special. It's a trait they have that separates them from everyone else.

I wasn't really planning on buying a next generation console immediately anyhow, but this game certainly makes me feel more comfortable with that decision. I didn't buy Red Dead Redemption until January of 2012 and I was still going big with that one until a couple of months ago. If GTA V is close to that level in terms of drawing me in, I should be good to go for quite a bit.

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I agree, but I wish it was a dreamworld for the developers where they work. Working for Rockstar is a nightmare (the management is terrible), but these are the lengths they take to make a great product.

It's going to be tough to avoid multiplayer before I beat the game. I am afraid if I hop into multiplayer before I am finished with single player, I may never finish it.

My fear is a bit different. The absurdity of multiplayer will spoil the naturally grounded progression of single player.

In other words, MP is probably all about flying jets and shooting RPG's, when you still might not even have automatic weapons or aircrafts in SP at that point.

Plus, people spoil things in MP, on the mic or otherwise (easter eggs they've found that you would prefer stumbling upon yourself, etc.).

It won't be as bad in this game though, because one other thing about MP in GTA IV is that the whole map was unlocked. In SP, I was still on the first island. It's much more rewarding to patiently wait it out, but instead I got that "spoiled" for me jumping into MP too quickly.

I think it's going to be unavoidable.

I'm going to see someone from my friends list in multiplayer and I'll cave.

I'm only going to have until November 11th to play this game for a while, so I have to get what I can out of it. I can't wait to break my PS3 out of early retirement. I haven't used it since I beat Sleeping Dogs.

I plan on having 100% game completion before multiplayer even rolls out, so I'm not worried.
