    Re: Grand Theft Auto V

As I see it, the issue with a RDR3 set chronologically after RDR1 is that you get pretty close to using cars; and you can't be "GTA with horses" if you have cars :P

But you could still squeeze a game there and still limit or not have cars at all. Would further the "transitioning from the Wild West to the Modern World" theme, but I think being able to use cars is the line of demarcation between the two series.

Plus you are getting closer to WWI. RDR1 takes place in 1911, WWI is 1914-1918, so you can set it around there. After that you get into Prohibition territory which is definitely more GTA than RDR.

Going backwards is where there is more runway, but always being mindful that the further back you go the closer you get to the Civil War.

They can just treat Red Dead like the GTA series and make the next installment a whole new story with new characters.

It's not like 1 or 2 have anything that ties then it Red Dead Revolver.

If you have never played it you're in for a good time.

I think some of the bitterness people (generalizing here) are starting to show towards the game has more to do with the remasters, GTA Online being a priority, etc. than the game being bad.

When this game first came out it was a whole lot of fun. I've debated about a playthrough and there's a chance I could spend the $10 for the 60 frames upgrade and give it a go but I've got some other things to finish first.

My big disappointment early on was that the first trailer was not indicative of the final product on PS3 and 360. What you see on PS4 is more like what we thought we were going to get. They kind of pulled an Ubisoft on us in that regard.

You have the rest pretty much dead-on. This is a great title that did not get any SP care after release, sans the next-gen ports.

              Grand Theft Auto V

I finished the story years ago but was very impressed last night trying GTA online on the ps5. I tried all modes and stuck with performance ray tracing. I just can’t play these games in 30 fps anymore and the difference is night and day.

I think I may have enjoyed those DLC for GTA IV more than the main game so I was a little bummed that there wasn't SP DLC for V considering just how huge the map is. It was definitely a major let down.

Especially since they had enough quality characters they could have used to do a SP DLC for. That was the let down for me.

Yup, count me in on the "I enjoyed GTA IV's DLC more than the main game" camp. Gay Tony FTW!

                      Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Tried GTA Online last night it was interesting but it just throws so much stuff at you. There are constantly things popping up and pinging. It's a bit overwhelming and as someone who disables most audio notifications on phones and PC it's off putting. It looks interesting and it's cool being back in Los Santos though so I'll give it a proper go at some point.

As far as GTA V story, I have little interest in revisiting as i was pretty meh on the story and struggled to even bother finishing it 10 years ago, so i'll save my 10 bucks.

Is gta v online on ps5 free for one week once you download it ?

Or is it free to play until June ?

I could be wrong but I believe on PS5, if you claim the online part now it’s free forever? Only if you wait until June or whatever would you have to pay for it , and the cost of the campaign jumps from $10 to something higher as well. I could be wrong though.

The one week bit is the PS Plus trial for new subs is all.

GTA Online is free until mid June on PS5, then it will be $9.99 like it is on Xbox right now.

GTA V for PS5 is $9.99 ($19.99 on Xbox) and includes the Story and GTA Online. After three months it will be $39.99.

Once you own it, it's free other than the required PS Plus or Live sub, and there is an optional monthly subscription coming.

GTA+ is a new membership program exclusively for GTA Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — launching on March 29 and providing easy access to a range of valuable benefits for both new and long-standing players on the latest generation consoles.

So what is the point of gta 5 online ???

                                (I haven’t played gta since ps2/PS3 days).

Is it just random things happening, follow the yellow line or red dots and complete the task ??

Do you actually play with other people online ??? To me it looks like you don’t ?
