    Re: Grand Theft Auto V

This is why I still have my PS2 & PS3, so I can play these classics religiously (especially San Andreas).

Only two more months for playing GTA V online for PS3. Oh well...

I still have my PS2 and have all these games. I would not buy the remaster unless it was at least up to the graphic quality of GTA 4 on the PS3.

I’m hoping for a $40 price tag and for the radio stations to have all their songs. Give me better graphics with QOL updates like mission check points and updated controls.

I agree. These are 17+ year old games, so since it isn't a full on remake, I hope they are reasonable with the price. Definitely agree on the check points and updated controls.

Also hope they find a way to improve the hand to hand combat system and enemies not being damage sponges. I don't necessarily want to see that Green to Red Enemy health system.

I would hope they can get the graphics close to GTA V, I mean the game came out in 2013. QOL fixes can only do so much if it looks like I just fired up my PS2. That would be unacceptable to me.

And as far as the ReRemaster of V, it better looks as phenomenal as the mods on PC(wishful thinking I know) or that’s going to be a hard pass. if there’s more single-player content I may bite.

With it being remastered on Unreal, I'm not honestly sure what to expect with graphics. I have to keep reminding myself that GTA V was originally made on the PS3/360. I do agree, i don't want to see "upgraded" PS2 graphics. It's not a remake Trilogy, so you have to keep that in mind. But with Rockstar's resources, it has to look like a modern day game. I don't want it to look like a modded PS2 game on a 4k emulator.

I kind of want to give them a pass for the GTA V trailers. Feels Iike they just used "upgraded" recycled launch trailers. At this point, you want it to be as good as the better mods that we've seen in last several years. For me, it's all dependent on if and how much single player content is added. I'm done with GTA V. But if they added a couple hours of single player content, I might be bite. But, it still has to be a free upgrade for me to even consider it.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't hear about GTA VI until 2023. I do believe that the earliest we will get GTA 6 is 2024/2025. I just hope the Re-remaster isn't just for Rockstar to get another 2 years of GTA Online content rolling out. At least, we're getting the GTA Trilogy. But Rockstar/Take-2 has enough studios that they could work on another project on the side before GTA 6. I don't have high expectations for GTA Trilogy, but I want it to be good because I'm not looking forward to the Re-remaster lol. If the GTA Trilogy is good enough and has a reasonable price, I will buy

Sounding like Nov. 11th will be the release date for this.

Rockstar Games announces Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition with no release date, though it may have leaked online.

That was the original date for the Re-remaster. It makes sense. Not sure if the delay was to give the Trilogy it's own space.

Not sure about this week, but next week is the 20 year anniversary of GTA 3, so that'll be a good time to start revealing info

I have no idea if it's legit or not but I think I saw a post on the games Subreddit or something saying it's leaked out that it will be a full priced $70 game.

I won't be interested if that's the case. For me to pay $70, it would have to be remake quality. Even with it being the Trilogy of games, I don't want to pay essentially a full price for an upgraded PS2/Xbox experience

I'm not sure if San Andreas allowed you to skip parts of missions, but I want to say no. There needs to be checkpoints added to missions or something. Especially missions where there is a lot of driving towards an area at the very beginning or the multi-layered missions.

No in San Andreas. I’m still traumatized by the mission David Cross gave you to fly that mini plane.

That’s a no for me unless they have done a total remake of the trilogy.

I didn’t know that they removed songs from the games over the years:

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition promises to remaster these classic games, but without their original soundtracks, the GTA trilogy will never feel complete.

If they’re not able to get those songs back, I would at least hope they’re able to replace them with other songs from those eras, provided they can get past the licensing issue.

I'll consider it on PC down the line, given good reviews and solid mods.
