    Re: Grand Theft Auto V

The Tuner update came out today. It's basically putting Midnight Club into GTA. I'm more excited for this update than I anticipated I would be. I already spent 1.5 hours tonight just doing my product sells for my biker club to get the money needed to buy the new property and start getting into the new content. From what I've read there are some new mini heists that pay out a couple hundred thousand each time and they're a nice new refreshing way to grind some money if need be.

The car meets are actually pretty cool. I didn't think I'd go to them too much, but I went to one today since they are brand new and it's actually really neat seeing other people come and go and see their rides. Even if their cars aren't exactly what I like, it's still neat seeing some other real person's car.

Driving around the little test area was some fun. You can do time trials down there which I've always found time trials in racing games fun, so it held my attention for 10 or 15 minutes before I wanted to go explore the new update some more. Some of the new cars I have seen "in person" at the car meet location are all great looking. I still can't wait to grind and get the money to buy a few of them.

I joked and said I can't wait to spend 4 hours grinding to get the money to drive a new car for 20 minutes, but I honestly do enjoy doing that somewhat. It's always nice to come back to this game just to cruise around in some of the cars I've customized while listening to music, watching a stream on another monitor, etc. It's also nostalgic in a way to play GTA some nights while driving some classic cars that were in past GTA games or in racing games that I played growing up. Cruising Los Santos in a classic Porsche, an R32, a 370z, Silvia, Supra, etc. is actually something I enjoy more than I probably should.

If you can IMMEDIATELY make enough money to buy the Kosatka sub so you can do the Cayo Perico heist. Its the best money making thing solo online, and solo you get between 9k - 2m depending on the primary target and good secondary targets. Hell, you could just spam the primary and make crazy cash.

A lot of people hit 20/30/40 mil just spamming running that heist solo.

I swear, if Rockstar only puts the Expanded & Enhanced update on consoles I'll be pretty peeved. That's a big middle finger to the PC crowd if they do that.

The soundtrack alone from SA and Vice City would be enough for me to cop and hold down until the next GTA is released, whenever that is.

You could have all 3 games essentially have the same visuals since they shared the same engine. It said would look like a highly modded classic game with mix of new and old visuals. For me as long as it doesn't look like a lazy remaster, I'm good. I don't want a Mafia 2 type remaster lol.

See a lot online about complaining about GTA VI. I rather see them take their time with it and fully take advantage of new consoles. But at least give us something non-GTA V related game to hold us off. You would want remakes, but as long as it isnt just a cash grab lazy remaster, I'm good

While we have to wait until later this month to see what the new Take 2 game is, I don't mind if they put out a lot of remasters as long as they aren't just cash grabs. A GTA Trilogy will definitely sell well regardless. I just would want it to be a quality remaster that makes the game look close to modern, but still captures the differing atmosphere. That was the beauty of those 3 games. They all had good soundtrack and atmosphere that made them unique to each other. I'm curious to see the price. Those games are all 17-20+ years old, so I wouldn't want to see more than $40 unless it is a high quality remaster. I could see this and the GTA V remaster being revealed this month or early Sept at the latest

I wouldn't mind a remaster of games like RDR, Max Payne 3, and other dormant titles. If we are 3-4 years away from GTA 6, then something to hold us over would be nice.

Word has it that if this remastered trilogy sells well, they will remaster RDR. They already have most of the landscape in place in RDR 2, so hopefully it wouldn't take too long.

That's what I saw as well. It will definitely sell well. It is more of "how well" it sells. It being digital only shouldn't hurt it much. The main two factors will be visuals and overall feel. You can't expect remake quality visuals, it should feel more than a lazy remaster. And you don't want the games to feel like you are still playing a PS2 game.

The only one that could work like that would be GTA 3. Both Claude and the online protagonist are silent. Switch Claude for the online protagonist and include the GTA 3 story in a GTA 3 Liberty City throwback map and it'd work.

I have always been curious about remasters versus remakes. Could they use the GTA 5 engine without fully remaking the game? With the 3 games essentially on the same engine, you can have the 3 games look and play the same. As long as the games still have their unique auras, I'm okay with them looking and playing the same.

When it comes to remakes vs remasters, I always felt games past the late PS3/360 era almost needs to be a remake.

I'll assume this has been planned for a while, so they would have time and obviously the resources to handle the music licenses. But, yeah all 3 had a lot of music to have to get the licenses for again.

On one hand, yes, I'm with you.

On the other hand, I was in my 20's when GTA V came out and it's beginning to seriously look like I might be in my 40's by the time the sequel arrives. And I don't mean to sound pushy, but that sort of release cycle is going to end up pretty unfavorable to my life span.
