Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I'd rather see 3 GTA's in 4 years that don't take gigantic leaps over waiting 5 years for something like GTA V from GTA IV and now waiting 7+ years for the next game. It's going to hit a point to where the game won't live up to the wait simply because it would be impossible to. Red Dead 2 is a good example, IMO. I've played that game hundreds of hours, and it will be one of my favorite games from this generation for sure, but I can't say it was completely worth the wait as backwards as that seems with how much I do enjoy it and given the hundreds of hours I have spent in it as well.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Not the news I wanted. They didn't even need to be at the PS5 reveal they could have done this announcement on their own time. There is not much that they can add to it now unless it's online.
Speaking of Online. Online is going to be standalone now on PS5.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I beat GTAV on Xbox 360 when it first released in 2013. Never bought it on X1 because the online was never my thing in that game. So this is crazy to me that we really went an entire console gen with no new GTA game. Same thing with Skyrim.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I guess business wise it makes sense since online play is still making them so much money. Crazy to go this long without making a new one though.
Especially sucks for those of us who never got into GTA online.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
With all the work they have put into Online they should have at least made some story DLC. I've been replaying GTA IV on PC and The Ballad of Gay Tony was a really fun DLC.
Might be time to start looking into some mods for that game and continuing my playthrough.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
It would been cool to play a DLC as one of the many side characters. Crazy after 8 years instead of getting new game, we're just getting a expanded story which would probably be a DLC .Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
What am I missing with GTA Online? I played online some when the game first came out, but does this really still have a user base that is spending enough money to where R* isn't even bothering with a new game? Or even single player content? They seriously wouldn't make more money by putting out a $20-$30 expansion?Comment

But it is crazy that outside of GTA V and LA Noire remasters, RDR2 was the only new Rockstar game of this generation. And how it is seems like now, GTA6 might be the only new Rockstar game of next generation. I get the whole quality over quantity, but it'll be nice to see more than one new game in a generationComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I wonder how much of it is tied to reports about the work conditions of employees at Rockstar? It's also their first big successful online venture and I think they want to keep supporting something that's wildly popular.
I guess it could sort of be praised too because I got salty when DICE couldn't even support a first person shooter for two years.
I know the studio that worked on Max Payne 3 did Control, but It would be nice to get a new Max Payne too.Comment

Its is good that they are supporting a very popular mode as long as they can still make money off it. But if you aren't a person who doesn't plays GTA Online of RD Online, you're SOL as a Rockstar fan. I would have paid for a single Player DLC. I just miss the days of the 6th and 7th gen where Rockstar was pumping out a variety of games every year or so.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Dang, had no idea GTAV was still a top 10 selling game. I mean I guess it holds up, and there are more and more people getting old enough to where they can play it and more people getting consoles.
It's insane to think I original bought it for the 360, and I was a sucker that bought it on PC too. It was even a disc version.Comment

Rockstar bought the sole rights to the IP & after the "disappointing" sales figures of MP3 they likely will let it collect dust (like Bully, Manhunt & Midnight Club).
