Is it just me or did RDR2 make you frustrated with the lack of playable areas?

I restarted V a few weeks ago and I'm at 36%. I'm just annoyed that I can't go in so many of the buildings. I really hope hte next version addresses this. They have so mcuh potential for funny NPC interactions (hotels for example)

It didn't take RDR2 to make many frustrated with that. That was one of the big complaints when this game released. The lack of interiors, the way too short story mode, no SP DLC, the side activities were not great by GTA standards, add all of that up and that is why V was disappointing to someone like me who has been playing GTA since the games were top down.

Don't get me wrong, V does some things well. The 3 character system was much better than I anticipated, the city feels alive, the difference between regions is felt, but there was just too much I didn't like that makes me sad that this is what we got. I do wish in GTA 6 that interiors are a big priority and I hope the map is done much better. V's map just felt lacking. One major city, the country side didn't feel fully fleshed out, too much of he map was not important at all.

RDR2 was amazing and sets the bar really high moving forward. I hope the next GTA is even better and builds off of RDR2 and what it did real well, not GTA V..

I agree. I hope RDR2 was the standard for them. I understand how much money GTA Online has made them, but I hope Online doesn't become more of a priority for GTA moving forward. Really wished they would have came out with a traditional DLC. I feel like there is a chance they might make the story shorter just to focus heavier on Online.
I know Rockstar wants to pump out more games. So it is normal to expect that games might be not as in depth. I expect them to use same engine to make games, so to make games quicker

Rockstar really isn't the type to rush to pump out more games. They know their games will be cash cows no matter what and we've seen how long they take to release anything these days. It's basically a guarantee anymore that it'll be 4+ years between their last release and an announcement for a new release and you can always tack on a delay or two to that.

I've seen other people on other sites worry that they'll end the GTA series soon and I just don't see how that is possible. GTA games, especially with the success of online, are basically like printing money for Rockstar at this point. I do hope that RDR2 is a sign that they are going to continue to focus more on single player than they seemed to have in V. I think they got too ambitious with the 3 character system and it hurt the length of the game.

I have zero problems with multiple playable characters if the story is longer. All I wish for in the next GTA release is that single player has the length and depth expected of a GTA game to this point. Look at San Andreas and the amount of content it had and the length of its story. That should be the standard. I know they are going to pump tons of resources into online and I can't blame them. I just hope they continue to do what Rockstar has done with nearly every game and also take care of the people who play it for the story. They did that with RDR2, so I have hope.

GTA Online just broke its player count – six years after launch

Grand Theft Auto V will be six years old next month. And it just broke its all-time player count. Open the door and let that sink in for a minute. This is a game which smashed every record in the book when it stormed popular culture in 2013, and now it’s doing it again because of the commanding success of GTA V and GTA Online.

Ever since players were first unleashed into Rockstar Games’ entire state of San Andreas, the presence of the Casino building has had players frothing at the mouth at the concept. Last month, that dream became reality with the opening of the Diamond Casino & Resort in GTA Online.

Clearly this has brought players flocking back to the beloved title of days gone by, but GTA V has been in the spotlight for much of 2019 thanks to an explosion of FiveM Role-playing on Twitch and YouTube. This is a framework which builds upon Rockstar’s brilliant world, but allows players much more freedom than GTA Online allows thanks to custom servers. It requires a valid install of GTA V – hence why the game continues to dominate PC sales charts.

Back to Rockstar’s own online world, insiders are now estimating that the Casino update may have drawn in as many as 10 million players in its opening week. The last official metrics released from Rockstar put the weekly number at 8 million but that was back in 2015, not long after the launch of the PC version of the game. Things have gotten a lot more substantial since then.

^ Impressive, but doesn't bode well for our future SP alignments.

Take-Two should pocket some of this money alongside its NBA 2K DLC stuff and sink it into that damn NFL license, man.

One can dream lol. Who knows if NFL ever will go away from the exclusive branding.

I would think they'd improve on this, technically GTA was a last gen game.

It's also very different creating major cities vs. mostly open fields with some tiny towns though.

I just back into online after the casino update and haven't really played since heists were introduced. I see there's a bunch of new properties you can buy, I have 1.5 mil, what is the best way to get money? I see there's nightclubs, club houses, I see there's vips and presidents, what's the best way to go?

I'm not sure why it happened, but RDR2 came out and I dabbled in its online some(read I have 44 hours in it already), and for whatever reason I've finally had it click and now I'm all about GTA Online as well. I used to not care as much for it outside of goofing off with friends, but the past week or so my buddies and I have all just gotten hooked to GTA Online and we've been grinding away finally playing through all of the content that's been added.

I had about 200,000 in cash when I came back, but we've grinded enough and taken advantage of the double $ rewards and I've been able to buy a clubhouse and a cocaine lockup. My other buddy was able to get the penthouse. The other one got a bunker. We've got plenty of stuff to do now and we still have to do the heists because I've not even done the Prison Break one yet.

It's funny how so many years later the switch finally went on for me with GTA Online. Now I'm pumped to complete everything and anxiously awaiting to see what they have in store for GTA 6.... in however many years after they milk RDR2.

Something’s up at The Diamond Casino & Resort. Patrons have reported seeing unusual security patrols on the casino floor. Penthouse owners are receiving cryptic text messages from the Cheng Family Holdings. Insiders have spotted unfamiliar blueprints on Agatha Baker’s desk, and visitors to their website are certain the intrusions there can only mean one thing: there’s a crew getting ready to take the whole thing down.

Prepare yourself for the biggest, most audacious, most complex criminal operation ever to hit Los Santos in The Diamond Casino Heist – coming December 12 to GTA Online.

Infiltrating the most extravagant entertainment and luxury living complex in the entire state won’t be easy, and careful and comprehensive preparation will be rewarded to reach one hitherto unattainable goal: breach the vault at The Diamond, grab the goods and exact revenge on the Duggan family.

The Diamond Casino Heist is an all-new approach to Heist architecture and execution: one huge gameplay-packed operation as you work with the Cheng family to infiltrate the most secure building in all of Los Santos. Featuring a diverse range of opportunities for set-up and prep missions that shape your plan of attack, multiple paths of approach, constantly changing security measures and a dizzying array of choices once inside. Expect outcomes for you and your crew to change on the fly as you deal with each new situation, leading to more choices mid-mission. Even if the best laid plans go sideways, you’ll have the opportunity to keep the mission afloat without failing by shooting your way out with your remaining team lives, all allowing the Heist to be highly replayable with new scenarios unfolding each time.

In order to plan the biggest Heist ever perpetrated in Los Santos, Heist crew leaders will setup an unexpected new commercial venture as a front, a retro Arcade business property shrouding the nerve center within where Heist operations are staged and rehearsed. While the business runs above, down below you can practice hacking keypads or cracking vault doors, store equipment and getaway vehicles, and owners of existing businesses can add a Master Control Terminal to handle all current operations.

Stay tuned for more details when The Diamond Casino Heist launches on December 12th.

Picked this up for $9 and had to restart the whole game from scratch, which was heartbreaking. Playing it with new eyes tho, pretty dang exhilarating. Even with this being a relative older title it still feels amazing and the depth of it is truly something of a masterpiece. I forgot how good some of the tracks were in this and literally the acting is hilariously well done. I am not too much of a fan of 3 player switches, but I get it. I am way more partial to the volatile Steven ogg...hands down my favorite personality. Kinda wished they would have just stuck with his character or maybe someone as his sidekick instead of Michael and Franklin. Love the ride though this far.
