Re: Grand Theft Auto V
The choice seemed kinda obvious. Everyone's fav has been GTA:SA up till this point. If they simply remade that game for the 360 and PS3, I'm sure some would be just as excited. Instead, we get the culture and land diversity of San Andreas back with a new story and plenty of detail. I'm hyped.
Does anyone else think Rockstar is just pulling our legs, and still has two more cities up their sleeve they have yet to reveal?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

One of the license plates shown in the trailer has "San Andreas" on it. But of course, this doesn't solidify it being set in the SA.NFL - Giants]

Then again, Mt. Chiliad was in San Fierro in GTA: SA, so unless they relocated it for the sake of this game, maybe we got a glimpse of SF there.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
They have a ton of pictures taken from the trailer at www.gtaforums.com or somthing like that.
And I'm pretty sure the thread says its been confirmed it that its san andreas. Take it for what its worth but, I trust it its one of those threads that has everything broken down with screen shots and info.
Also guessing you can actually have hair on other than your head and face. Like on your chest or back(possibly). Also there is a sign that says no fishing zone so fishing might be available. God I hope they bring back the ice cream drug selling side missions or at least something a little more creative. Might be able to own businesses, sign saying going out of business and a atm so hopefully money will be a little more hard to come by and used realistically.
Also place called wolfs and it says its for rent. So businesses looks like it will be in.Last edited by SouthernBrick; 11-02-2011, 02:26 PM.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I love looking at the little details. When they show the windmills, check out the car in the background driving up the dirt road. Notice the ridiculous amount of dirt? Little things like that add up and Rockstar has always nailed those details.
Game looks amazing. The wait is already too long.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I'll fall into the camp of "not overly excited" about an old setting. LA in general has been done to death in games. It is time for some originality--there are so many untapped markets its not even difficult to envision one. I get it for its familiarity and "iconicism," but I would have been a lot more intrigued by a new setting.
I'm sure the game will be great regardless, and it is very visually striking, but when GTA VI comes out, I better not see NY, LA, or Miami.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Yeah guys, I have a feeling we're going to be treated with the entirety of San Andreas, not just Los Santos.
I have far too many reasons to think this, but here are a couple for starters:
- This was a teaser trailer. They wouldn't tease you with all the game has to offer instantly (in other words, they're showing the skyline left and right without having us itch to see it further down the road). for the record, the GTA: San Andreas teaser trailer only showed their iteration of Los Santos. It wasn't until their second trailer that they showcased San Fierro and Las Venturas as well. Right now, hiding as much as possible is their biggest bargaining chip with the skeptics and non-believers that they can make a better game than even RDR. They still must have something up their sleeve in terms of scale, as far as this game goes.
- This game has planes. Hell, it looks like the Hydra is even back. It also seems to have massive freeway systems. I know they could make a singular huge city, but does anybody really think that they would constrict themselves to just one airport? One downtown skyline? One freeway that just loops and circles around the entire city, along with the countryside? Water bordering one end of the city and a big mountain bordering the other?
- Speaking of the mountain, as I stated earlier, if we're indeed looking at their revamped "Mt. Chiliad," that was planted in San Fierro last time around. We might have gotten a small taste of San Fierro there, along with the windmill shot perhaps being a part of its countryside (as it was in SA, and as they are prevalent in the East Bay in real life).
- Rockstar simply would not wait four years, proclaim "It's a big one" a few months ago, title this sequel with a roman numeral number (they said they only do it when they're truly doing something redefining for the series), and then come out with just one city (large as they could make it as is, anyway). Since the PS2 days, they have always had multiple cities. III, Vice City, San Andreas, and IV all had at least three major islands (actually VC only had two, but small islands in between), and there is no reason for them to breach that consistency by making a game with only one city... a city which we have just seen in L.A. Noire and their most recent version of Midnight Club. They aren't that stale of a company. Besides, every game since GTA III (including RDR) has b/locked off areas of their map in certain ways, until you're progressed far enough. Do you think they're going to actually give us only parts of L.A., and not all of it?
- There's the potentially true article about certain revelations of this game, and that one said all three cities from GTA: SA will be in the game. I'm not saying that source is credible, but it's just another possible hint toward it being the case.
There is no doubting that I could be absolutely wrong with all of this. Knowing their history however, I just don't think they would reveal everything to us like this in the teaser trailer alone. I will admit that this trailer underwhelmed me only slightly, because if L.A. is it, then we've already been exposed to it sooo much. There has to be a lot more they have yet to show us...
... and I can't wait to see what all of that is!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Goin' goin' goin'....back to Cali' Cali' Cali'....
Sorry, back to San Andreas. Looks like the whole state is in play, though - Los Angeles (sorry - Los Santos) is looking fantastic, which I would expect given the time/detail with which Rockstar has mapped the area in the last few games. And did you see that mountain amidst the pines? As most of you know, there's definitely nowhere in SoCal that looks like that - which means San Francisco is IN. Which means, the long drive through the inland wasteland up the 5 is in as well. I even thought I saw a clip that anyone who's ever made that drive would recognize...
I think it looks awesome. I know people wanted them to go to all sorts of different places, but honestly, I'm pumped that LA/Cali get the high-def treatment. I mean, the city just looks awesome in the game. And to me, it's always more fun to traipse around in locales that you are actually familiar with. I'm really looking forward to this one, needless to say...Comment
