For starters, and to clarify, it's a 9 hole round. I can't say for sure, but it seems like time stands slightly still as you play through (I was worried it'd get dark before I finished my round but it never happened). Altogether, the round took about 25 real life minutes to complete.

The control system is easy and rewarding. That said, it still takes skill to excel. I finished -1. It was pretty easy to see where my mistakes were. You cannot choose clubs but again, if you look at it as a mini-game, that tends to take on less importance.

To be honest, it's actually pretty cool to drive a golf cart from shot to shot. I played it conservative (kept it on the cart path when possible, no sand trap jumping or lake diving) but it's freeing to know the option is there to take it where ever you want it to go. It also began raining on the 7th hole and the cart became a little more fun to handle as a result.

I will say, I do wish there were more achievements tied to the golf game. I'll have to see if there's an online leaderboard. If not, I'm guessing that'll come forth when GTA Online opens up. It's definitely a fun endeavor overall though.
Yeah the golf is a fun little mini-game. Just to clarify though you are able to switch clubs and also change shot types, i.e normal, power, etc.

The controls to do this is listed in the bottom right hand corner while playing.
    Go Yankees
    Go Rangers
    Go Giants

Oh dang. Thanks guy. I did not notice either of those things the first time through. Thank you. I'll edit my post.

Well I'm partly torn about having to restart the game, but also not that upset. I've enjoyed it a ton, plus I feel like I'll have some insider trading tips for the stock market this go around.

          Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Last night I put the game on sleep mode (meaning story progression is paused), and turned off all of the on-screen info stuff - the HUD, Radar, and GPS. Talk about immersive - was a totally different experience trying to navigate those freeways and get to where I was going by reading the exit signs instead of of watching the GPS.

Ran across another option that might be of interest to some, too....if you can't see the targeting dot, switch the Targeting mode to "complex" in the options. At least for the pistol, it gave me a much larger crosshair to aim with. Seems like the dot is there more for those who use auto-aim.

I really want to do this. Definitely seems like the immersion factor would go through the roof.

            Do you use free aim?

Yep. Started out with auto, but it seemed way too easy.

Just got around to playing it yesterday night and it seem good so far. The limited amount of the story I played [3 or 4 mission in *yacht)] had me enjoying a good amount, but still waiting to be able to play the online.

This is fantasic. I hadnt even though about doing this until the tip came up on screen last night and I started doing it. Makes it much better in that you dont know how close you are to getting a helicopter called on you and you dont know how close the cops are to catching you.

I wish there was a way I could keep GPS on without anything else. Immersion wise I dont want to know how many cops are after me or where their field of vision is but realistically I would still have turn by turn GPS on my phone.

Try holding the power button down until you hear the second beep, then let go. This hopefully will reset the ps3 and might work.

$1 billion in 3 days are you kidding me. No wonder Rockstar was having server issues.

I believe that translates into 16-17 million copies of that game. Wow.

I wonder how many copies they need to sell to reach their "break even" point? Their budget was crazy huge.

I wholeheartedly agree. The storyline, characters, missions, and setting are so much more engaging than they were in GTA IV. I come away impressed every time I play. This game is a masterpiece.

Reading the website makes me think the scattered pages around Los Santos you have to find are tied into that, since it was mentioned on the site.

I guess you find the pages, 50 i think, you find the killer.

Much better than the 200 Flying Rats from IV, which served no purpose.
