Re: Resistance 3
I think there are 16-20 chapters which is lengthy enough for me, considering how difficult at times it can be with no health regeneration.
It is crazy how much the show Falling Skies and Resistance 3 are so similar. When I saw Falling Skies, I saw shades of the first two Resistance games. R3 and FS are just very similar imo.
I really like that they finally added some new enemies to the mix, helps freshen things up.
I was thinking of trying to rent a copy of this and to play co-op with my son. I was looking at a few vids and I think it was local co-op with the screen being split horizontally, which I can see being an issue. I think our bandwidth at home should be able to handle both of us online at the same time playing MP.Comment

Re: Resistance 3
Playing the Campaign, during some of the sequences I really feel like I am having a mini-adrenaline rush. Something about the blurring, sprinting, and **** flying around everywhere tricks my brain that it is real, haha.
Never felt that way with any other game. I can only imagine how bad *** it would be in 3D.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 09-08-2011, 02:07 PM.Comment

Re: Resistance 3
Resistance 3 Patch 1.02 Notes
Patch 1.02 for Resistance 3 is now available worldwide. We apologize for having two large patches this close to launch, but as you know, we’ve had a lot of issues to address from the Public Beta, and this has created the need for large patches. If you just want to play SP, you can ignore the patches (though there are some small fixes to the campaign) – but to go online, you will need to download them.
We wanted to detail some of the fixes in 1.02 for you. There are A LOT of fixes in this patch, some of which some players may not notice and are not worth detailing, but here are the big ones:
- Players should no longer get into “dead” games that don’t operate correctly
- Improvement in framerate/lag
- Matchmaking fixes
- Fewer players floating / clipping through environment
- Fix for freezing/crashing issues if you join a game as it is ending
- Can no longer leave party while in a co-op game (was causing a crash)
- Party fixes dealing with multiple invites, co-op
- Some SFX in St. Louis have been cleaned up
- Broadway map now loads games correctly
- Fixed issues when late-joining a campaign co-op game
- Multiple fixed issues on Chapter 13 in co-op
- Female voice over will now play for female skins in MP
- Player using Hazmat ability will no longer appear to catch fire or freeze
- Other various lobby, menu, co-op and multiplayer fixes
We are still working hard here to reduce lag / framerate issues that you see. We have another patch already in the works to continue addressing new issues we’ve seen since launch, though many of these issues may be improved by the fixes in patch 1.02. Those issues include:
- Lag/Server sync issues
- Framerate drops and hitches
- Games where players cannot capture the flag/destroy a Node/etc.
We know this patch should resolve many issues, but please know we are continuing to monitor your feedback via Twitter, Facebook, the Insomniac Games Forums and MyResistance.net as we develop patch 1.03. We’ve already gotten a lot of good data from the first couple of days, and are continuing to develop more fixes to give you a world-class online experience. If you spot other issues, please report them as quickly and in as detailed a way as possible.
Thanks for your support of Resistance 3,

Re: Resistance 3
Yes, if one of you go down you can revive your partner. It's similar to Gears, but you see a timer of 30 seconds and you don't take further damage when bleeding out. Once revived you get half of your health back.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Resistance 3
Just beat the game on Hard Difficulty...
SpoilerGreat experience. Few campaigns grip me like this one did. The Psycho Prisoners in PA were pretty crazy. The leader was a real *******, can't believe he did my boy like that. The ending had me guessing as I grew closer to it. I kept thinking Capelli was going to go down with the the ship, but I am glad he didn't. I really like the last few scenes. Hanging on that ledge and shooting with your revolver. The music was really done well too. Can't wait for Resistance 4. Might try it on Superhuman sometime. But, I want to get more time with the MP.Comment

This is one of the most enjoyable FPS's I have played in a long time. There were a few chapters that I could have done without as I am not sure what they were trying to achieve. This game really had a nice mixture of the first 2 games, but closer to RFOM and has that bit of the Halo feel to it and a mix of Half Life 2 imo. There was quite a bit of Half Life 2 in some of the later levels, which is not a bad thing at all.
If we do get an R4, please bring in vehicles..........I think having the use of vehicles in a FPS helps break things up a bit. This game trounces Killzone 3 in terms of pacing and direction as I never felt like I was going from set piece to set piece.
SpoilerThe ending just came out of nowhere and I kind of expected a bit more than what we got at the end. I thought for a second there that Capelli was going to die. It felt that way just for the thought that when the radio started playing at the end with his wife talking over the radio.
I feel at this point that the United States has been liberated from the Chimera based on the 3 games. I would love for them to take R4 to Europe and Russia. The credits make it seem like the war is over and that humanity is finally starting to rebuild, but I don't see how destroying the tower only in NYC would end that..........how about Europe, Russia, Asia, etc?
At one point I thought the Chimera had disappeared for good and this was turning into a Grim and Leapers centric game. LOL! Those grims were probably some of the toughest enemies in the game just because of them traveling in packs. This part sort of was killing the game for me a little bit. It's fine for a chapter or two, but I felt like the tone of the game was changing into this.
The use of an orchestra for the music really made this game standout. I would love if they released a soundtrack.
I was quite excited to see the SRPA soldiers late in the game, really love their uniforms.
If your on the fence about this game, I'd give it a rent at the most especially if you enjoyed the first two games. It was well worth the ride. I would rate this around a 9-9.5 if it were me. The first half of the game was very well done. When I got past Chapter 12-13, it kind of fell apart a little bit and picked up again in NYC. But I will give Insomniac props for really having variety in this game. I did enjoy the train level, that really helped add some variety and the prison was a nice touch. The issue with many other games and even the first 2 R games is there was no variety in enemies like we got in R3. In R3 we had a good 20 different kinds of Chimera that we were dealing with.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 09-11-2011, 12:33 PM.Comment

Re: Resistance 3
Just got this yesterday. Haven't tried single player or coop yet, multiplayer is a lot of fun. Multiplayer would be more fun, however, if you didn't play on the Prison Yard map every single time.Lux y VeritasComment
