About to finish up R2 and move on to this gem.

I really like the Resistance story! War of the Worlds type feeling.

I had R2 since launch and have yet to complete it since my back catalog of games keeps stacking up. But after reading everyone's impressions and the glowing reviews, I am jonesing even more to play R3.

I was getting it no matter what since like I said, I like the universe, and the art design looks so well done for R3, with that HL2 feel to it. But reading your guys impressions, has me salivating!

Very good game, felt like it dragged a little bit towards the end, but seeing as how this was the first Resistance I ever felt the urge to get past the 3rd or 4th chapter I'd say it was a definite step up

Would give it an 8.5-9 .. probably a 9.5 if the pace of the first few chapters carried through the whole game

Still, highly recommended

Agree. Great game. Felt like a mix of Half Life and Halo.

Seems like you guys are enjoying it, I may have to give it a rent.

I played R1, but didn't enjoy it at all, so I skipped R2.. will I be out of the loop on anything or should I be able to just pick this game up and play it ?

Just play this one. There is an intro at the beginning of the game to catch up on what happened in R2.

I just bought it and it doesn't work. I put it in my ps3 and it doesn't read it and it just sits there for about 3 mins then it makes a weird noise but nothing happens. Works with every other game just not this one.

Must be a dud, back to the shop I go......

Yeah, sounds like a bad stamping. Had that happen with some PC games before, where a disc or two would not install.

Beat the single player yesterday I really liked it, solid story that kept me engaged for the whole time. Would have liked maybe one more city as I was kind of surprised to get to New York so quickly but I enjoyed it all the way through and makes me want to go back and play on harder difficulties which I usually don't do.

The multiplayer takes some getting used to and guys that are leveled up have way better guns than you do which is kind of unfair but after a few rounds you get some good stuff. Only at level 10 right now but I'll keep playing it for a little while at least.

Play Classic Hardcore Playlist. It levels the playing field. No perks and abilities. Just your gun and grenades. That's what I play most of the time. There is too much going on in the standard modes.

My roommate and I tried to play the hardcore playlist the other night and we weren't able to find any games. I had played it before and I do agree, the hardcore playlist is a lot of fun.

Yeah, the matchmaking is really poor for that list. There is an upcoming patch that is going to address that and the recent lag issues. It can't come soon enough.

Hardcore sounds awesome. I never have the time or inclination to play a game online enough to unlock all the perks that most people do so hardcore would allow me to jump in at any time and have a relatively level playing field.

I'll probably still get owned repeatedly but at least it'll be because I suck and not because I have not put 300 hours into it to unlock all the perks etc like some peeps have the time to do.

Played the single player campaign last night for about and hour and really enjoyed it. I love the weapons in the resistance games probably more than any other FPS and having a great time with them again in this one.

The game is very polished and I'm enjoying the no recharging health system like an older FPS. Makes things more suspenseful imo when you can't just run off and hide behind a crate somewhere in the middle of a firefight.

Yeah, I love the no recharge in SP. So nice when you are low on health and make a mad dash out in the open looking for those green drinks. So satisfying when you pick them up. Adds a whole new level to intensity.
