I'm low-level at the moment which is why I don't mind the vampire attacks. When the first one happened in Whiterun, I didn't know what the hell was going on. The music changed and I saw guards running towards the front gate. Ran up there myself with Lydia and saw there were three vampires. If they get harder as your character progresses, maybe I'll just do that quest line now if it makes them stop. Being a vampire in Oblivion was more annoying than it was fun. Don't think I'll do that on Skyrim.

I believe it's been mentioned on the Bioware forums that patch 1.9 comes out on Monday-but don't quote me on that.

Thanks for the heads up, did a little digging and saw an article was released today.

Took the last few days off to wait for the patch, although I'm happy the way the game is now.

Well this is odd. I just started up the game again, having not played for quite a while, and when I load up my save all my controls completely freeze and I can't play :\

                Anyone had anything like that?

I haven't. But then again when I fired it up for the first time in a long time a month or so ago, I just started a new character. Game did freeze up on me yesterday when I was doing the Daedra quest for Hircine though. Not sure what caused that.

Thinking about starting up a new character again - just can't figure out what kind. I think I've grown bored of the sneaky archer type, but magic bored me as well.

May do a light armored one-handed guy with some magic use. Haven't decided. Can't decide.

I've done the light armor one-handed with magic route before, it was fun. Primarily Destruction magic.

I probably prefer my brute character, though, if you haven't done that before.

What do you use with your brute? Heavy armor and two-handed weapons?

I don't know if I'm big on the two-handed weapons. Never used them, though, so that could be interesting.

Ha! My first Skyrim character was a light armor, one-handed with destruction magic. He was fun. But the character I'm playing now is a brute. A brute who sneaks at times and also likes to pull out the bow at times. I do like rushing in on people and killing somebody with one stroke of my battleaxe. My guy is weird.

Funny unrelated Skyrim story. Part of that Hircine quest involved the guy that turned into a werewolf. I chose to keep that guy (Sindig?) alive. Well after the quest was over, I exited the cave I was in and started walking out in the open. That werewolf, who said he'd stay in the cave and live away from people, walks out too. He isn't following me though. He's just walking. So I followed him from that cave in the mountains northwest of Falkreath all the way to near the Honningbrew Meadery. I spent probably a half hour following him just to see where he went. It was funny to watch him shred the crap out of some bandits at that fort west of Whiterun.

Yep. Orc (for the Orc strongholds where you can mine to your heart's content making smithing easier), heavy armor, and two handed. Swords, mostly, though I've dabbled in warhammers as well.

It's really fun to see a horde of Draugr or something and just go running headfirst into it knowing you can kill all of them.
