The way i did it was do SKSE, SkyUI, HD textures first, Project Reality, real ice, blood textures, and the amidianborn. Static Mesh improvement should be the last texture altering mods you add. From there it doesn't really matter (unless I'm forgetting something and i apologize if i did). You can use boss to have it auto sort the load order. It does a good job but always check the mod pages because some tell you were to put them specifically, such as the SkyHavenTempleEnchanced says to have it last in the load order. Good luck but know there will be some trial and error until you get it right. I forget to mention in my last post (Thank you COD). Download TESVEdit it can run the game to see if it will crash or not and you can create merge patches (not sure if that's the same as cleaning them or not because well IDK what that is lol). Edit, BOSS and Nexus mod manager are great tools to have so use them.

Skyrim 2K doesn't cover any textures from the DLCs, unless something changed recently. If you want the most up-to-date textures, you'll have to use Serious HD. Also, just my opinion, there are much better textures than what 2k offers (SRO, Tobes, etc.). Skyrim 2k was the first texture revamp, so that's probably why it gets all the love. I believe the game looks better if you use specific mods for specific textures such as HD Linens, Tobes furniture, etc.

Also, you should always clean any mods that haven't been cleaned. This can be done with TESVEdit (download from Nexus). Unclean mods mean crashes are more likely...and that's not good.
I had no idea about HD 2k textures being old that's my fault for just looking at most downloaded all time instead of the more recent ones. I'll have to look at the new ones thank you for pointing that out. When you say "cleaning" a mod what does that mean exactly? Is that like a merge patch or something else? I did notice on BOSS about 2 of the mods I'm using (both were quest) were reported as having "dirty edits" but I went with it anyway.

Skyrim 2k is still updated; however, they have not done any DLC textures. Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (SRO) has original and Dawnguard textures. Only Serious HD has all the original and DLC textures included; however, its not as robust as 2k. I use SRO because it gives an original feel (in HD) and Serious HD for landscapes and dungoens.

      For cleaning, check this out:

I would love to use immersive creatures they have some lore friendly creatures in there that I would love to add. Unfortunately I'm having trouble loading it up....can't even get past the bethesda logo...

BTW for those of you that just started modding I would suggest checking this site out...

If you can't get past the logo that means you're missing a requirement or there's a conflict.

Skyrim Legendary Edition is being released June 4th. Comes included with ALL DLC. Hard to find a game that will give you more bang for the buck.

It was just updated with Dawnguard only...I don't have any of the DLC's for Skyrim so I guess I will hold off on using that mod till I eventually get the DLC's...

For Nexus Mod Manager, do you have to be a registered user on the site to get it? Not really looking today for mods.

That puts a big damper on these mods for me.

You can still use them. You just have to manually install. Though you still need to be registered to download them.

Or you can go the Steam route and just subscribe to the mods you want via Workshop ....but I must say, nexus has some quality works thats not available on workshop...

No it doesn't. I was wondering why registering was such a big issue for you. No worries, it's completely free.

Registering allows you to track and endorse your favorite mods. Also, registering for one nexus mods site registers you for all of them, i.e. Far Cry, Fallout, Dragon Age etc.

First step for registering was picking a premium package. I didn't realize you could skip that...

Got the Mod Manager installed and SKSE installed and working properly. Good start and looking to add on to it during the week. Thanks!

About to start playing this. Any tips? I'm looking to sink some major time into this. Not really sure what kind of character I want to have, what sort of things I should be looking out for, etc. I have all of the DLC as well, so I'm pretty juiced.
