    I just built it about 2 months ago. i7 with a nice sapphire gaming card. I run everything so far on Ultra. Arma 2, diablo 3, Skyrim, tomb Raider, Bioshock and Far Cry 3 so far.

    Also is this Nexus compatible. It's saved me so much due to the fact I'm new to all this so clicking to install is pretty sweet. Lol.

    Also should I uninstall the 2k mods before this or will it matter?

      ENBs may still tax your system too much depending on what's all going on.

      I have an overclocked i7-3930k, 2x SLI 4GB evga gtx 680 ftw+ and 32GB RAM and there are mods (**** you, grass) that make my fps drop to 5-15.

      As for the easiest ENB to install/customize (and the one I always choose due to me liking the look of it) is RCRN.

      I don't have the site off the top of my head since I'm on my phone but I'm sure if you Google RCRN Skyrim you'll find it easily.

        Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

        ENBs are not Nexus compatible. This goes where the .exe is and not the data folder. There's no load order for it,it just activates. You can press shift+f12 to turn it off in game. Some come with SweetFX which you can also toggle by pressing the scroll lock button. You need to edit a couple of options in the ini file but that's simply changing a 1 to a 0. Others do come with .esp files that go in the data folder to increase compatibleness with certain mods.

        I suggest these (for looks,not performance):

        There's 2 more that aren't on the nexus that are really fantastic but I'm technically not allowed to share them. In fact one seems to be lost entirely. The links are dead and the site is gone.

        If you're using the tropical overhaul I suggest this one:

        This one if you're more concerned with performance (which you shouldn't be for a game like this):

        These don't come with the main .dll file so make sure you download the basic version from the main website first.

          So, before installing these ENB's should all mods be removed? Also will this affect saved games, is it done best with a fresh install of Skyrim?

            Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

            Oh goodness no! You don't need to remove anything at all. Has 0 effect on saved games. It's just a visual overlay type thing like putting an old timey filter on a picture. Here's a black and white one for example: http://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34130/ which looks really great but isn't something you really want to play with,unless you watch a whole lot of TCM I guess. In fact the older versions aren't even game specific and you can use them with any DX9 game. I think you can use the SweetFX thing with any game at all.

            The .esp's that come with sometimes are just to make it work better with other lighting (or in one case water) related overhaul mods,usually CoT. The only thing that should be a problem is if the enb isn't compatible with the .dll but that rarely comes up. Like if the newest is .166 and it says use .117 it should still work. If it crashed on start up then just go get .117 or use a different enb.

              Awesome! Have heard about them for a while just never really looked into them. They always seemed like a lot of work lol. Not that I'm lazy, just been content with mods. No DLC either just cruising along .

                Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

                So I just decided to start over from scratch again. Deleted everything and have no mods installed. (Note to self: make backup of vanilla Skyrim next time, lol)

                I do have nexus though with all my mods so if I want them all I have to do is click them. Couldn't seem to get the ENB to work. I wanted this one: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/151...%3D15105&pUp=1

                It required these:
                1. http://www.enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrim_v0170.htm (ENBSeries v0.170 beta for TES Skyrim)
                &
                2. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17802/? (Climates of Tamriel)

                I know for sure I had CoT and the other I think I did right but it still didnt make my game look any different.

                Oh well starting from scratch.

                  Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

                  I use an ENB for Deus Ex and NBA 2k, but I find that most of the Skyrim presets and custom customization options take away from the "feel of Tamriel". ENBs are too flashy for the time period Skyrim takes place in in my opinion.

                    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

                    Well if they don't work typically one of two things has gone wrong.

                    1. They're in the wrong folder. Just to make it perfectly clear...
                    Here:
                    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim
                    not here where you'd typically place a mod:
                    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data

                    2. You didn't turn off/on the options it says to turn off/on. Not your fault that one doesn't seem to mention it.

                    Go to skyrimprefs.ini and change:

                    FloatPointRenderTarget=0 to FloatPointRenderTarget=1
                    bTreesReceiveShadows=0 to bTreesReceiveShadows=1
                    bDrawLandShadows=0 to bDrawLandShadows=1
                    bShadowsOnGrass=0 to bShadowsOnGrass=1

                    and in the launcher set Anti Aliasing and Anisotopic Filtering to off.

                    None of them actually *require* CoT. It may look better with them or it may be made for that so it'll look different than what's in the screens but it should work regardless.

                    Also there's lots of non-flashy options,including the one I posted earlier: http://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36214/

                      I installed JT ENB that you posted earlier without a hitch. Just followed the directions. And it looks great I do notice a difference. Only problem is shift+enter doesn't do anything. So I'm not sure how to get the in game menu.

                            SSAO is basically a rendering technique that tries to make object shadows and reflections as real as possible in real-time.

                              SSAO is screen space ambient occlusion.

                              Too long to explain here. It's basically one of the methods of calculating ambient occlusion (which has to do with lighting.)

                              I don't know how you'd enable it as you have an AMD card. I know I controlled mine through the nVidia control panel.
