So general rule is, the more expensive the thing you are smithing is, the more experience you get for it. By this we need to find an expensive item that is easy to scavenge for and spam the hell out of it.

I advise to find the Transmute spell. This turns your iron ore to silver ore and silver ore to gold ore. With these gold ingots you spam smithing Gold rings. If you have jewels, you can spam the more complicated gold items but gold rings are easiest and give you a little bit of gold in return to keep the machine going.

You find the transmute spell at the halted steam camp just on the outskirts of Whiterun. There are a bunch of bandits on the outside doing random stuff. Im not 100% as its been a while but I think its on the slight northwest side of Whiterun.

So as you spam transmute, your alteration will increase a whole lot. I advise not wasting skill points in uping that tree unless thats your thing. But imo alteration is the lamest skill tree.

Oh and it would be good for you to use this gold ring spamming to up your enchanting. Smithing and enchanting leveling go hand in hand. Plus your enchanted rings will score you crazy amounts of gold once you learn which enchants are the most profitable.

    Good luck man.

Edit: oh I forgot, you will need to mine for iron, or silver ore to get the transmute going. Iron ore is the easiest to mine for as those veins are everywhere.

And you can do the daggers spamming as it is even easier than gold ring spamming. But Post patch, daggers give you extremely little experience as the devs realized everyone was abusing that spam when the game was still young. So if you never patched your game, THAT would be the easiest way to do it.
Ahh, didn't know they patched the smithing. Been a while since I hit 100 in smithing, so I had no idea.

Yeah it was a sad day for smiths everywhere. Much harder to level that skill now. I did it once after the patch and all my builds since then have completely ignored smithing. Too much work!

I'm gonna get back into this game again, I think. I never finished the main storyline. I can't decide if I'll resume my heavy armor, dual wielding guy, or try something new.

I never finished main storyline either. Picked it up last week and I'm hooked again.

Always the toughest choice when starting back up. Continue or start new.

I haven't completed one quest in the PC version.

I wasn't a big fan of the MQ in this installment, but I did enjoy most of the factions and Daedric quests. Not to mention I thought the environment made exploring pretty fun.

                  Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Exploration is supposedly the strength of games like Oblivion/Skyrim, but the problem with that is it almost always leads to underwhelming/bad combat. Maybe if there was other interesting things to do that would actually make the exploration worthwile ? Like doing archeology or something. But then they would have to have a good/balanced loot/economy system and we know that would be alot to ask from Bethesda.

I said it before and I'll say it again, they should just concentrate on making the combat decent, cut out more of their meaningless RPG elements if need be, and just make a decent action/adventure open world game with some magic maybe. Instead of trying to do all these things and please all these ppl, with none of the aspects being of high quality because their spreading themselves too thin.. It just becomes a jumbled mess of ideas with no strengths whatsoever.

I'm finally getting back into this. I was 50 hours in and my girlfriend was 195 hours in on her file (...I know...) and my file got accidentally overwritten. So I lost everything. I didn't have the heart to try again until recently, but it's been a while. Any tips to earning gold faster?
The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.

Caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye today while coming down a mountain. I jumped into a lake, but by the time I made it to solid ground, it was long gone. I've put almost 100 hours into this game and definitely didn't see that one coming.

Best way to make gold early on IMO is to make iron daggers, enchant them with something like "summons level X daedra ...." and sell for over 1000 bucks. You can buy something with this enchantment in Solitude.

I think that is the enchantment...it summons something, not sure whether it's a daedra

I've never had to spam something to earn gold.

Just loot every single body you kill and open every single container/chest that you can find and you'll be fine. Also make sure that pretty much every time you leave a dungeon you're carrying your weight limit in stuff to sell.
