Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'm not really into games like this but I'm looking for games that take time to complete. Do you guys think this or Dark Souls is better for a "ROOKIE" I just bought 2 Worlds 2 and think that it is pretty good, should I look into this game?

If you enjoy 2W2 then you'll enjoy skyrim immensely and its not even close. Dark souls is much more combat,like 95% of the time.

Yes, Dark Souls is an action-RPG that centers around combat. It does combat very well but the game is not very story driven.

This is how combat hardcore Dark Souls is, you can not pause the game. At all. Need to take a piss break, phone call, etc? Better find a spot you KNOW is safe from bad guys or you'll come back to a corpse.

Skyrim is much more friendly and has a better story. That being said, Dark Souls is an awesome game and I actually enjoy it a little more than Skyrim. But for most Skyrim would be a better choice if you had to choose between the two.

However, if you have a PS3 you should try looking for Demon's Souls. You can find it really cheap (10-20 dollars) now probably and it is basically the same thing as Dark Souls. As of the last time I played it about a month ago, the servers were still up and there were plenty of people online so you wouldn't be missing out on the great online aspect, and that way you could see if you like it before just buying Dark Souls. Demon's Souls is just as good as Dark Souls.

Both will be a colossal timesuck though.

The mines don't regenerate do they ie once I've mined everything in one there's no point in going back?

They do... The regeneration rate is about a month of in-game time I believe.

i just now picked up this game. all i have to say is WOW. i never thought this would intrest me, i have always been a sports and racing gamer. dont get me wrong i love to pop in GTA or a shooter now and then, but ive never been into RPG kinda games before. i held off on getting it because i thought it was gonna be "some stupid game about fairies and dragons", but let me tell any of you who havent gotten it, its amazing.

so glad my friends finally got me to give in and buy it, im not even far at all, i just killed the first dragon, so that tells you how early i am, yet already i am in love with this game.

I'm the arch Mage of the college now......Don't really care, just going to loot the place and sell it off. Then I had to get this crown for the Jarl, I was looking at his palace and was thinking damn man you poor as hell. Nothing but wood and bareness.

I got 1,000 gold for finding his crown. It was FAR.....Came across this lizard man by himself that had it along with a lot of expensive gems. Looked around, seen he was alone, BAM, mighty blow to the skull and took all his loot. He had around 10 gems and some other goodies.

Made it back to Winterhold and these dudes tried to jack me. Killed all of 4 of them, they all was carrying steel plate armor and 300 in gold. Looted them too LOL. I was like damn, today was a good day, all this free money.

So far nothing, just saving up for that sweet pad in Solitude, that house cost $25,000. I make my own potions, weapons and armor. Mine my own ore.

I wish you could make your own house from cutting trees. IMO that is what the game is missing, the ability to make your own home or castle out of the materials you find.
