I won't say you would know what to do for a while but with the guys on here, different sites and to me a "Must Buy Strategy guide if you are not to familiar I think you would be ok. If you decide to venture into this type of gaming be prepared to neglect your other games and possible life for a while.

Game is as good as it gets imo. Best game I have ever played and Sports games is my main genre

Basically what im asking is do they have tutorial to teach you things or is this more so a game that you have to have played the previous versions to know whats going on?
Oblivion was my first game of this type and at first I will admit I was overwhelmed, but after I kept with it I was able to get a hang of the game and understand it for the most part. I quickly found out what I liked and didn't like and what my play-style was and made my character better in the areas that would benefit me most.

I am assuming that this game is very similar and that you definitely should give it a shot.

I always thought of that one as if you're drinking from it/dumping it out then it's half empty,if you're pouring something into it it's half full. I'm more concerned about what's in the glass.

I never read the manual that came with the game and jumped right in knowing that the chances where that I would at some point start over with a new character. So after opening up the Strategy guide it advised me that I needed to read the manual 1st before advancing to the guide and I now know that I will be starting over ASAP.

Not sure if you can do/play in a wrong way but I've found that I should probably have done things differently as far as perks/skills is concerned. I know I'm beating a dead horse but the Strategy guide is the best Skill/Weapon I have acquired.

Just to avoid going through 1400+ replies, would this be a game for the casual open world game player to pick up? I've heard nothing but good things and hype about this title, but know nothing about the series. Any insight guys?

UPS has still yet to deliver my package.. It was out for delivery at 7AM in a town less than 20 minutes away from here. C'mon!!! This is the latest UPS has gone aside from some delays due to weather.

Maybe. There's a good chance you'll just be lost/confused. You'd have to learn how this stuff works if you haven't played any other RPG games.

Game is beautiful. Little touches like the leaves falling off trees, salmon jumping upstream. Seeing a beehive and shooting down with an arrow. So much fun.

3rd person is much better and I am enjoying the combat system. The integration of the slow-motion kills makes a huge difference.

Too much to do in the game. I want to go to the first town but I keep getting distracted.

edit: The musical score is outstanding. I'm sitting here on the side of the river with the moon rising above the mountain. The music is just soft enough as if it knows that you are just in awe daydreaming.
