They're not the best, but the foot planting and the sense of weight to the characters in third-person view is far superior to previous Bethesda titles.

You have to have a wired 360 controller to use it on PC. It should be just plug and play.

Since, I didn't have one I had to hook up my PS3 controller with motionjoy. Google search it and choose the 360 emulator on the menu. I like the way it plays with a controller.

Side note: I went into Gamestop about a week ago and asked if they had any wired 360 controller. They told me they stop making 2 years ago.

Wireless works also, but you need to buy a USB dongle to get it to work. I know they sell a controller with the dongle, but I don't think you can buy the dongle separately.

Here I am minding my own business just roaming around and suddenly 7 bandits attack me and I was able to finish them off and I take a few steps and a Dragon appears so I had to take him down and I'm like jeeze. Can't I get a break.

It really is amazing, even with their sketchy AI, just how much of a sense of camaraderie you feel with your companions/hirelings while dungeon crawling.

Playing a stealth build I haven't used a companion at all. I'm a one man wolf pack.

I do plan on making a spellsword type next and plan on taking advantage of the extra help.

Yep, companions just make my job of going completely undected more difficult.

My orc will roll with one though.

Any soul gem. Most of them you find are empty though. You will need to cast the spell Soul Trap (or have an enchanted weapon that drains souls) before you kill something. The greater/common/lesser/petty soul gems are filled by creatures. Black soul gems are filled by peoples souls.

Most of the mages' shops have filled soul gems you can buy from them, but they are pricey.
