Waiting until Christmas for this game is proving to be very difficult.

I eventually said "F it" and got it myself. I have enough other games (UC3, Batman AC, Mario 3DS, Mario Kart 3ds) on my Christmas list and I wanted Skyrim lol.

I tried waiting and I just couldn't do it. I put Uncharted 3, Batman, Saints Row 3, and COD on the back burner.

I'm not a big role-playing game fan but Skyrim is my game of the year and the best game I've played this generation.

So tonight I need to drop some stuff off at the Mage college, look for a treasure near riften, enchant a sword, buy a horse, and complete a companion mission.

Do you think my wife will understand when I tell her that I have a lot of **** to do tonight?

Make sure she doesn't check to see if you finished your "chores".

I'd consider the night a success if you complete half of that list before getting sidetracked.

Can you only switch to 3rd person after a certain point? I just started playing and can't seem to switch to 3rd person?

Same thing happens every time. I create a "to do list" at work. When the wife and kids are asleep and I start up Skyrim with a fresh list of things to accomplish in my head.

5 minutes into the game my list is worthless and I'm on the opposite side of the map of where I planned on being doing god knows what.

You can't switch to third-person until Ralof or Hadvar remove your restraints in Helgen Keep. Makes it a bit of a pain when creating a new character because you have to play through that first section each time before seeing what you look like in-game.

If you're on the PC, you can change it later in the game by going to the console menu (`) and then typing showracemenu and enter.

I found this after I wasn't terribly happy with what my guy looked like, but I was too far along to restart.

Anyone else's Favorites menu freeze when you go to equip something new? I've had the menu freeze during a battle for like 15 seconds. I usually put my potions in the favorites menu, so when I need one, I press up on the d-pad. It happens quite a bit, even after the latest patch. I was hoping this would get fixed. I'm on the 360 by the way with the game downloaded to the HDD.

It really takes away from the game/battle when it freezes.

You see yourself during the character creation.

That messes up your skills though does it not?


Has anyone tried this mod? Tytanis: The Ultimate Mod . It basically adds a crap load of craftable items and spells and I'm really shocked by just how much this guy has been able to put into the game in a short amount of time. He's doing all this without the CS. Check it out.

You see yourself during the character creation.

Well obviously, but often your character looks a little different than expected once you actually get into the game. Usually I find that faces look a little more gaunt and jawlines can be very sharp in-game when they don't look that way in character creation.

My froze yesterday during a loading scene. It was fine after that.
