The biotic charge + heavy melee that cuts the biotic charge time in half, along with my Geth shotgun is awesome. I always feel like I'm taking too big of a risk charging into a group of Ravagers and Banshee's, but I somehow always survive thanks to that charge.

Re: Mass Effect 3
That's exactly the problem.
The x is gone.
Not really a spoiler because anyone that's played the game for 10 minutes knows...if you put Anderson in charage during ME 1 and encouraged him during ME 2 it's still Udina in charge in ME 3. Putting Anderson in charge was supposed to do something,it did nothing.
Anyway there's the much, much, much greater issue of Bioware being filthy lying scum because not one person has managed to get enough war assets to enable all ending without multiplayer without editing it on PC. Myself included despite that I've completed every single sidequest in all 3 games.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
@jeffrubenstein @chrisgrant you do NOT need to play MP for the best ending. there's ample opportunity in the campaign to earn the "best."
19h Jeff Rubenstein @jeffrubenstein
@aegies @chrisgrant so, basically, fill the assets bar? I'm afraid to read a FAQ and spoil something...
19h Arthur Gies @aegies
@jeffrubenstein @chrisgrant yeah. if you want to/can. if you mess up, or make certain decisions, you might not fill it.
19h Hollander Cooper @HollanderCooper
@aegies @jeffrubenstein @chrisgrant You need to get the bar (the one on the bottom) to 5K to get the "best." MP is almost mandatory.
Arthur Gies @aegies
@HollanderCooper @jeffrubenstein @chrisgrant i played no mp and got that without a problem.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Like I said, it's such a clunky way to do it, and once people see that little bar they're going to try to fill it up best they can, but to me min/maxing story is weird. Make the decisions you want to make. Sometimes they'll work out, sometimes they won't.
Salarian/Krogan spoilers below...
SpoilerFor example I sided with the salarians when it came to allowing the sabotage of the Genophage to persist and I shot Mordin. I thought it was a best-case scenario because the Salaraians would back me up if anyone found out, and the Krogan loved me. Sure, I felt terrible that I was lying and that I had shot Mordin, but I felt it was necessary to have both the Salarians and Krogan help me fight the reapers. When Wrex found out I lied, it was totally unexpected, and I paid the price. Unexpected things happen when you make choices.
None of this excuses the weird way bioware did this. To force people to may MP or iphone games in order to help your story progress is a weird and bad way of doing narrative. That being said, it appears that if you really try you can still get the best ending, which seems apropos considering the Reapers are supposed to be an insurmountable force.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
I'm not really sure where you got the idea that other DLC characters aren't in the game as much as Javik, both Kasumi and Zaeed had lines interacting with characters at every step of Mass Effect 2. As far as it being on the disc, just because part of the content is there, it doesn't mean that all of that was finished or that they just took it out of the game to rip people off. The thing is over 600 mb, it would've been a lot smaller if it was just unlocking something already on the disc.
Where as Katsumi/Zaheed were characters that if you never knew them, they wouldn't really matter. Their interactions on the Normandy where just lines, not full blown cutscenes with dialogue choices. The only time you really talk to them like that is on their loyalty mission itself.
But what do I know. If the upcoming DLC's integrates into the story as well as the Prothean then I will be playing this game for a long time to come. I really hope so, cause I don't want my Shepard experience to end.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
Just beat it.
SpoilerI agree with most about being let down by the ending. Everything was fine about it until you took the platform up and talked the the god/kid. It would have been perfect had it ended after talking down the Illusive Man and forcing him to shoot himself and taking out the reapers. Perfectly fine with Shepard dying so that's not my problem with it.
There's just so many ends left wide open and things that make no sense. Everyone's been complaining, but how exactly did my crew get back on the Normandy, and unless there's some other leafy green planet/moon in our solar system did they just land on Earth again? The mass relays are gone so they couldn't have left the system. Also what happened to the Catalyst? Did he get destroyed with the Crucible is he still around and free to do whatever else he desires?
Also Mass Effect pretty much straight up stole Deus Ex 3's ending, but Deus Ex did it much better. With your choice leading to something that made sense.
Still loved the rest of the game, but I feel like Mass Effect 2 was the better game, mainly for how it handled the whole final mission. I choose my 2 squadmates in this (Garrus and Liara), but what are Ashley, Javvik, Tali, etc. up to? At least in ME2 you could use your whole team on that final mission; sending Tali/Legion through the vent system, Samara/Jack to hold the biotic barrier, etc.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Mass Effect 3
About the ending
SpoilerI have no idea where the whole "our choices didn't matter" stuff is coming from. You have no idea what happens to anyone other than Joker and the two squadmates you chose. The Mass Relays and the Reapers are destroyed and that's all that we know about. As someone else said, the ending closed out Shepard's story with him doing what he set out to do in the first place. I'm really interested to see what they're going to do with DLC cause I have no idea how they can continue, unless they decide to make you control Joker or something.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
One other thing that bothered me.
SpoilerWhat the **** happened to Harbinger in this game? The main antagonist from ME2 and he doesn't make an appearance? I guess that's him shooting you when you try and take the lift up to the Citadel, but you had so many interactions with him in 2. He doesn't contact you all during the 3rd game.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
