Re: Mass Effect 3
I think it's supposed to be like that, you can only get weapons fully upgraded on a NG+(import a ME3 save). At least that is how it was with my Sentinel, couldn't go past V on first playthrough and I didn't get any error message when importing my Sentinel(I did with my Infiltrator though).SpoilerSaberComment

Re: Mass Effect 3
SpoilerWow. This ending really does suck. I remember the catalyst saying that I would pretty much die with either decision I make regarding the reapers but they could have at least showed what happened to Sheppard not matter what my EMS was. I just dont think it was a good idea to keep things out just because you dont have a high enough EMS. I could see having different endings where things play out different but to just flat out leave you hanging is wrong.
I chose to end the reapers but I still have so many questions about the outcome of my decision. Did my decision to destroy the reapers work?, if Sheppard died then how did he die?, Did he survive?, What happened to my crew?, What happened to Earth?, What happened to the rest of the alien race?, Did the Citadel get destroyed completely?, did ALL the synthetics get destroyed? And I have so many more
There is just so many things that was left unanswered. Yes I know some things were answered before the ending scene like all the synthetics being destroyed if you kill off the reapers, but the ending did not show that it actually happened. I feel as if my decision to kill off the reapers did not mean anything because the ending did not show any off that. All I seen was a massive shockwave going through Earth and a couple reapers falling out the sky. I know they were gone from Earth because the scene with the star gazer but are they completely wiped out?
I just cant bring myself to believe that anyone can make a game so fantastic then look at the ending and say they are satisfied with it without having something else planned like DLC.

Re: Mass Effect 3
If this becomes widespread, I should be able to get a refund for every bad movie I've ever watched in theaters.
Now back to the game...
Banshees are a bitch. And so are those cloaked Geth.
Priority: Geth Dreadnaught
SpoilerThe opening scene was WAY awesome. Walking to the loading bay, zero-gravity, admiring the battle around you while saying to yourself "Last time I walked out in space, I saved my helmsman and got blown away! Good times."Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
So yeah, the ending is as bad as people have been saying. It's very disappointing, but the ride was still fun, packed with fan service and some of the most memorable moments in the trilogy.
ME1 is still my personal favorite. It's weird though, because I wouldn't say it's a better game than 2 and 3. It certainly had the benefit of being the first, so it was the freshest and maybe there's some nostalgia in play, but I loved how it didn't feel processed through a million focus group testings and Exec meetings. ME1 mechanically and technically is messy, the inventory is FUBAR, there's a lot of redundant assets, but I loved its mystery, 70s sci-fi vibe, the story and overall narrative flow, grander sense of exploration, deeper dialogue trees, multiple situations on story planets that flowed naturally back into the main narrative, and one of the most badass and complex villain's (or hero?) in gaming in awhile. Saren and Sovereign were the high point, Illusive Man was good, but the Collectors and Harbinger pale in comparison.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
well, ME1 had the privilege of not going through EA as it was before EA bought BioWare and was published by Microsoft instead. Probably similar to the Dragon Age: Origins to Dragon age 2 transition, although DAO released after EA bought BioWare, most of the work was well before.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers

NHL: Calgary Flames

Re: Mass Effect 3
It's still my favorite as well.
ME1 mechanically and technically is messy, the inventory is FUBAR,
I know the Mako was a PITA to drive, but I liked being able to actually land on different planets and explore parts of them. Remember how some of the atmospheres would damage your suits and potentially kill you if you didn't seek shelter? And how there was armor that was lessened your offensive capabilities a little but at the same time would nullify those environmental hazards? I loved that.
I liked tensing up when I drove the Mako over an open area of land knowing a thresher maw was going to pop up any second. I would weaken him with the gun on the mako and just when he was about dead, I'd get out and kill him with my guns/powers so I'd get more XP for the kill. Remember getting XP for your kills?
I liked managing my inventory, buying and selling, hooking up my crew's gear and all that. Micro-managing the upgrades on their weapons was fun to me. Sure, it was a grind, but I enjoyed that grind. Your weapons would overheat if you were stupid with their usage or didn't mod them out right. I had a sweet *** sniper rifle that would basically overheat every time I shot it because I went for pure firepower instead of using that mod that cools it.
there's a lot of redundant assets, but I loved its mystery, 70s sci-fi vibe, the story and overall narrative flow, grander sense of exploration, deeper dialogue trees, multiple situations on story planets that flowed naturally back into the main narrative, and one of the most badass and complex villain's (or hero?) in gaming in awhile. I played through ME2 (and it took me months for that one play through) once and felt like, okay, that's enough. The same goes for ME3 (even though I think ME3 is incredible, and much better than ME2 the ending pretty much took replays off the table). The only reasons I'd play through them again now is to get some achievements, and I really don't care about achievements.
I don't know if it's because they're owned by EA now (and who doesn't love to hate EA?) or what, but Bioware has really lost my faith in their ability to make quality RPGs now, at least complete ones.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Mass Effect 3
I remember the Mako tipping over every 3rd planet and getting stuck somewhere every 5th planet. Then there was the hover thing in ME 2 that blew up if it ran into a mosquito or a drop of rain fell on it or someone sneezed in it's direction. Thankfully there's no vehicles in this.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
What company would be that stupid to take back opened games? What's stopping people who have played other games from pulling the "I didn't like the ending!, I Want my money back!" after keeping the game for two weeks?Last edited by LambertandHam; 03-20-2012, 06:58 PM.Comment

Regarding the Amazon refund, its nothing new for them. They will refund products if consumers are unhappy with them.
