Really, if not for the ending, this game would be counted as one of the top 5 games of all time, I wager. It's certainly up there for me. But I must admit, I don't have much personal incentive to play again since the ultimate payoff just isn't what it was for ME2. I don't care how many times I played it, the final mission against the Collectors (easily the worst name for an evil alien species thing ever) made everything worth it.

Re: Mass Effect 3
I'm finding it hard to get motivated to play this game. The production value is definitely amazing, but I feel like people should be doing stupid little side quests for me to gain their loyalty instead of the other way around. At this point it feels similar to the first two games set-up wise. I guess I wish there was a better continuation story-wise between games instead of feeling like I'm starting all over again, again. I did the From Ashes DLC today and that was fun. I can tell Javik is going to be pretty cool.
Still, the conversations are movie-quality and its easy to get sucked in to them and that's where this series has always shined is in the dialogue sequences.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Just finished up From Ashes DLC and it was great. Worth every penny. Javick is an awesome addition.
The intensity of ME3 is hard to deny. I loved ME2, and I feel ME3 is right on par in many ways, better in some ways and not as good in a few ways. It is a different game with it's pacing.
I have not spoiled myself at all, but I keep seeing so many posts about the massive let down the ending holds.
Well I hope I can enjoy the ending and I have no doubts I will replay ME2 with a totally different build to take into ME3. The game is flat out fun, immersive and truly well made.
But I can understand why so many people are crying/expressing their displeasure about the ending as the main thing I have gathered from all the posts without reading any spoilers is your choices seem to make no difference in the ending.
I can see that being a let down, but at the same time everything leading up to the climax can be totally different based on your choices. I already see that in my relationships with other females, certain characters who did not make it, the Araccnai (sp?) queen from ME1 being killed, the decisions about the embassy in the Citadel, the Genophage research I kept from ME2....it all mattered going into ME3.
Anyway I am rambling. I love the game, I wish I had an XBOX 360 to play ME1 (I don't PC, I am a MAC) so I could get the entire series in my system. But ME2 did a nice job with the interactive comic to get me up to speed, plus the Codex on this game is awesome. Maybe one day I will pick up a cheap XBOX 360 once the next gen comes out and pick up ME for dirt cheap.
Back to playing. 18 hours in and my mission que is loaded!!Last edited by Armor and Sword; 03-26-2012, 08:32 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Mass Effect 3
You know after replaying the last part of the game again and reading more about the arguments for theSpoilerindoctrination theory
I do however remain skeptical because I doubt Bioware would do something like that simply because of the possibility that it could cause an uproar similar to the one that occurred over the endings taken at face value. On one hand it would be somewhat genius, but I can't imagine people being to happy if the content on the disc didn't actually contain the "true ending".
Some people may think that the people who came up the theory are grasping straws (that is what I thought originally as well) but there is quite a bit of support for it throughout the game and the series in general. Like I said it makes the events in the ending make a lot more sense than the illogical mess if things are taken at face value. Regardless of whether the theory proves to be true or not, in my mind that is what I am going with , because the endings at face value are worse than an incomplete ending.
The biggest piece of support for the theory to me isSpoilerthe fact that if you have EMS over a certain amount and pick the Destroy option, that there is a quick scene after the credits of Shepard breathing under rubble, which to me looks more like the rubble from London, not from the Citadel. Either way there is no logical explanation for how Shepard could be alive if the ending is taken at face value.Last edited by mgoblue678; 03-26-2012, 09:44 AM.My Teams

When you finish the game you might want to take a look at the video 3 or 4 pages back, that offers an alternative "interpretation" of the ending sequence. The ride, until that point, was defiantly top notch though.Last edited by mgoblue678; 03-26-2012, 09:39 AM.My Teams

Re: Mass Effect 3
So, you can't get the "best" ending by not playing any MP at all, since not playing MP reduces your readiness %, correct?
