I'm just about to the end of the game, I'm at Priority Horizon and I've done all the side missions. I've read that I really need a EMS of around 4k or 5k to get the best ending. My EMS is 3302 at the moment. Is the multiplayer fun? Will it take a long time playing that to build up my EMS higher or is this something I could do in a few hours over a couple nights?

Re: Mass Effect 3
If you don't care enough about the story to read the novels, then don't whine about not getting every scrap of information. They can't include everything in the lore in the game so they expand on other things outside of the games. But, like I said earlier, you don't even need to read the books to get information on Kai Leng and other characters. Most of the stuff is either in an email, explained by another character, or in the codex. You don't even have to buy the books to get the information anyway since you can just go online to one of the many Mass Effect wiki's and get synopses of all the plots, information on the characters introduced in each book, or just find the books in their entirety for free.Last edited by jmood88; 05-22-2012, 11:08 AM.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Re: Mass Effect 3
I, personally, think MP is fun and I'm not an online MP person. It should only take 3-4 hours to get your EMS up. The "best" ending is highly subjective though. You're presented with several options at the end that all have pros and cons. What's "best" is for you to decide.
I don't mind doing the MP either, as long is it isn't long and dragged out. I want to be able to get in, and do a mission in 30 minutes or so, then maybe go do another one.

Get 4000 EMS (after galactic readiness variable) and you'll get the best outcomes for all the choices.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
Games with large universes such as this always have literature on the side because the games can't explain everything. This ranges from Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Halo, StarCraft, WarCraft, Resistance, Bioshock, etc. If you truly want all of the information of most large scale series these days, some reading on the side must be accompanied. It's on you to determine how much you care.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
I was not "whining". I said it "bothered" me. If this game was based on a franchise that had been established before the videogames came out, i could understand the lack of explanation. Also, as i stated before, i had no idea novels were even available for the game. IMO, its lazy to just assume people will traverse the internet or buy books to fully understand newly introduced characters in the game or why plot points just switchedSpoilerAnderson not being on the council at the start of 3Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Re: Mass Effect 3
Gamers throw "lazy" around like it's nothing. It's not lazy for the developers to assume that someone who claims to be interested in the lore will pay attention to the wealth of resources in-game that explain many of the issues you complain about or will go to the internet to find out more. It's not like the books are secret, the release dates are announced on every gaming site/blog and once the book is released it gets publicized. But aside from that, a simple Internet search will direct you to all the information you could need on certain characters or plot points.Last edited by LambertandHam; 05-26-2012, 11:48 PM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
I played some multiplayer last night for a couple hours to raise my readiness. I guess it worked pretty good. I played about 5 sessions and my EMS jumped from 3300 to 4100. I've read a few places online (and here) that 4000 is good enough for all the decision options at endgame, but that's only if you are fully paragon or renegade, which I am by the way. So hopefully I'm good to finish out the game now.

I guess we feel differently about certain plots and how they were explained. If your fine with a paragraph in the codex explaining a fairly big decision being switched from the first game(if the decision you made from the first game was the one where it switched) then more power to you. I wasnt. The 3rd game just left a bitter taste in my mouth. And it wasnt just the ending or the rushed beginning. It was realizing that no matter what, Bioware was shaping the universe for the general masses and people just starting in at the 3rd game and my decisions from the first/second made little to no impact on it.

Re: Mass Effect 3
well, Anderson never really like the political stuff to begin with. it's not that far a stretch for him to quit being councilor between ME2 and ME3 and take position as an Admiral, especially after the events of ME2:Arrival. I actually never questioned it when I saw him in the beginning of ME3 with him as Admiral, and that it was an obvious choice for Anderson. He always was a fighter and not a political guy.Last edited by Solidice; 05-23-2012, 08:55 PM.Comment
