Knives are overpowered in BF3 too..I don't get that with FPS..I thought they toned the knives down in COD this time.

I played the BF3 beta a lot and have never gotten knifed from the front while shooting someone. I don't mind the knife being a one hit kill, I mind putting 4 rounds into a guys chest running straight at me only to be knifed.

The melee in BF3 is fine for the most part, it's damage is reasonable. Two problems with it though, it takes to long to come out, and it sucks when your in the middle of getting someone's dogtags when his squad turns around and kills you... I guess I have to shoot someone now if they're in group...

IMO if you're going for your knife it should take a few seconds to do it, not the insta stab in previous CoD games.

I don't want to add onto this and make it a game war, but I just want to explain it a bit.

If you knife someone from behind in BF3, it's and instant kill, but that is because you pretty much get the heart, or throat, something very lethal. If you knife them anywhere else with just the swipe animation, it takes their health down 1/3 to 66, then to 33, then to 0. So you can't run through bullets and knife someone in the front in BF3, they eliminated that. Someone either has to be very damaged or you have to knife them in the back for it to kill in one hit.

True, I'm not a big fan of using my weapon that close to someone, all to his own. I could see if you're not stabbing someone from behind that your melee is the butt of your weapon, or punches or kicks... it just doesn't seem intelligent or all that smart to make a melee that slow when someone has spotted you. If BF3 is based off a realistic system, I can't see anyone going for a weapon that takes that long to bring out. Just my thoughts...

If guns seem to do more damage like I have read, then someone knifing from in front shouldn't be as big of a problem. It's never been a big deal on hardcore.

If you're talking about storywise, then maybe, but anything else, then no.

MW story is all over the place. You can easily Wiki it and be caught up.

I pledged I wouldn't get this game after the 2nd. But... It might just happen.

I love that there is no fanboyism like in the other thread. Every time I read it, it is like they bash people that play this game. Makes no sense to me, but whatever. I'm excited for the new COD. I love the challenge, and experience plenty of teamwork since I play online with my friends.

I am hoping they toned down knifing through bullets, but I guess we will have to wait and see. My only reservation is that I really didn't like MW2 that much compared to the other titles.
