Is there any way to get that Sniper Challenge mini-game? Does it come on the game disc?

I really wanna check that out but I didn't pre-order this game.

I would like to know as well...

Played some purist and that mode is infuriating! You really need to walk around and get familiar with your surroundings....

You can forget disguises playing purist if a chef or whatever disguise you're wearing they will be onto you ASAP....

Its not gonna save the game for me.
I played some of the developer contracts for levels I havent been to yet.
And all these levels are crap. They are so small, and there is really nothing going on in them besides a bunch of guards.

        very disappointing.

After a while playing the game I think the main problem with the game is that the levels are just too small. It seems as though they closed off alot of entry points (ie in contracts mode for the mansion level, I dont even think you can get into the mansion.)

It past hitman games, you could enter most of the doors, and it was endless fun seeing where each door would go, or what would be behind each door. Not in this game. Im beginning to think they dont have a floor map in this game because it would look pathetic at how little areas there are compaired to previous hitman games.

Will be returning this ASAP while I can get the most credit for it. Hoping for a Hitman HD trilogy release ASAP.

This game is just boring to me.

Probably my biggest disappointment all time for video games. jumped ahead of how disappointed I was with nhl 2k4 after how good NHL 2k3 was.

Question: Are these the same guys that made Blood money? Or was there a huge turnover? It just seems as though its a totally different game than the first 4. ugh. Im so pissed.
When was the last time you played the other Hitman games? i.e. Are you going off memory or do you have it hooked up and still play? Find that when I go by memory, especially for prior generation consoles, that my memory is far more forgiving with regards to fondness than I am when I replay one of the older games today.

i was playing the hitman trilogy on my old ps3 (that could play the ps2 games) up until about 3 months ago.

This absolution game feels more like metal gear solid than hitman.

You might like the game still, but I am already sick of it.

I honestly could not replay a level twice in this game.

Im curious to see what others think.

I started out playing hitman style and halfway through the story mode it became too tedious. I just went into terminator mode when i would get discovered to progress the story. Im glad i rented it. The missions and style of play in blood money were more fun and memorable.

Good to know. I've found there are many games that I have found memories of, but when I go back and play them, by today's standards and what we are used to playing, they just don't measure up. I actually bought Blood Money on the XBox 360 last year after this game was announced. Agree that the areas are not as large, and you can't open every door, but still personally enjoying the new Hitman more than Blood Money due to controls, graphics, voice over work, really just the whole package.

On the comparison to Metal Gear solid games, which I too am not a fan of (at least recent years) so we have something in common there, it's not quite the same but I do understand how you can draw the comparison. There are some nice additions in Hitman that don't exist in the Metal Gear solid series.

How far did you get into the game before you gave up on it?

                Re: Hitman: Absolution

I agree to an extent about going back and playing older games. But at the same time I still love playing them.

But compared to todays games....they do fall short in certain areas (visuals, sound and controls) and controls (as well as sound and visuals for that matter) on this new Hitman are awesome. Far better than the clunky nature of the XBOX/PS2 versions.

I am going to really dig into the game tonight and give a full impression report after completing at least 3-4 missions. I can already tell though that I will love this game. I am a big Metal Gear head and that does not deter in my enjoyment. Blood Money is a top shelf game in this series (along with Slient Assasian IMO) but Absolution so far (just did the first 2 missions) is gorgeous, tight and feels great.

I also can't wait to do some Contract mode playthroughs and design my own to upload. I can see that becoming an addicting type of mode in trying to be on top of the leaderboards.

If they do go more linear, it will be a terrible terrible mistake... considering the strides a game like Deus Ex made, the creative aspect of Hitman should be amazing if they do it right.
After only having played a few missions, I'm going to say my early impressions are that I'm underwhelmed when compared to a game like Deus Ex, which I think did many "hitman" elements better than this game thus far.

Not only do I think the level design and openness to complete missions how you choose (stealth, guns blazing, via some roundabout way, etc) is far superior in Deus Ex, I think the actual game mechanics with sneaking around from cover to cover is actually better in that game as well. Something about the controls just feels a little clunky for me so far with Hitman (not terrible mind you, just not as smooth as I'd like).

I'm still having some fun, but there is definite disappointment.

Deus Ex Human Revolution is an awesome game. It is a better game. I don't disagree. But it has a totally different backdrop and feel. Controls...yeah I give the edge to Deus Ex.....but compared to all the other Hitman games from the previous gen the new controls for Abosolution are far better.

I agree they are different in many ways. I was mainly referring to the open world/open-endedness level design and encouragement of player creativity to acheive objectives (which the Hitman series revolutionized, and is a large reason why the series is liked by so many), and stealth controls, all of which I think are comparable. And in those regards, my initial impressions are that Absolution isn't quite up to snuff.

As I said, its still fun. But I can't deny that imo Deus Ex handled many hitman-esque elements better than this game does, and that's disappointing to me.

Thanks for all the impression everyone. I am still on the fence with this game, it's literally in my Steam Shopping Cart, so keep them coming.

It's funny to see how everyone either loves or hates it. The disparity between the impressions mirror the reviews online.

It was a one time use code. And I believe all codes expired last week.

Kid......the game is awesome. I will give a full impression tonight but I can tell you it is a game you will enjoy big time. If this is your first taste of Hitman.....it is a heck of a way to be introduced to the series.

Just picked up a copy today. I played the first hitman and the 2nd, i think my copy of blood money was scratched when i bought it and just never returned it so didnt get around to playing that one. Ill give a real non bias review after a mission or two. This wasnt a must buy for me but i usually buy a game or two a week (own like 80 360 games dont play but three of them).
