Re: FPS better on 360 or PS3?

Ever since the PS1 days I have never enjoyed the PS controller for FPSers, I do admit though, When i played Killzone it did feel pretty good. The 360 Controller is perfect for my hands, second only to a mouse and keyboard.

I think it just comes down to preference and the system you play on most. I have strictly played Playstation over the years so I feel more comfortable with their controller. The same holds true for people that have played Xbox over the years.

This is exactly it. And me for the PC for over 15 years.

I think the tension is a bit higher on the xbox sicks and they just feel better when I play FPS's. Any other genre the controller doesn't really matter to me.

Yeah, it's funny: at first I was totally anti-DS3, preferring the 360 controller by a country mile. Cut to a few years later, where 95% of my gaming has been done on PS3, and the 360 controller literally hurts my hands now, to say nothing of the fact that the bumpers suck, the d-pad sucks, and the sticks, while sturdier than the DS3's, don't seem as precise to me.

Still say the DS3 feels cheap, though. I swear to God I could break one in half with my bare hands. This is nowhere near the case with the 360 controller. Sony should really consider upgrading the plastic they make those things out of.

Same here, the 360 controller just fits in my hands better. This is the only reason I buy all my multiplatform games on the 360. The PS3 is too small for hands or something.

I like how on resistance 2 it has L1 as zoom seems natural to me since my fingers are already at that spot.

But, I prefer FPS on the PS3. (Killzone 3, Uncharted 2 (3rdPersonShooter), Resistance Series, MAG)

Plus, there are far more idiots with mics on the 360.

If you could use the 360 controller for the PS3 that would be the best of both worlds.
                  (see 2nd paragraph below)
As others have stated, it's sort of a wash really. IMO it boils down to personal preference. I played most of my FPSs on 360 before one of my really good buddies back at home finally got back into gaming and got a PS3. I bought a couple FPSs on there so we could play online together and honestly besides the controller and the personalities a few posters have previously mentioned, there didn't seem to be a lot of difference.

Because I played 360 the most, I did feel like it took me a while to get used to the controller difference. But after I found one of these I was able to adjust a little quicker. While it's not an exact replica of the 360 controller, it helped me a ton.

If I had to pick one thing between the two systems, it would probably be that I lean to preferring the Xbox live system to the PSN, but other than that it'd be hard for me to recommend one over the other.

I think it depends on the size of your hands. Usually they don't matter much, but if you have unusually large hands, 360 is better. Or, if you are a kid, ps3 should fit you better.
