I don't care for ACE 3 simply because you lose 4 action keys that I like using when controlling my AI squad mates.

Episode 4 of Reciprocity is ready to go now gents.

I'm also working on another N'Viswago mission.

But my new focus for us will be a hypothetical "World War III" scenario around the Black Sea between the U.S. And Russian forces.

This will be less small group stuff and more large-scale conventional battle stuff. We'll operate tanks, APCs, etc. Big battle/objective type stuff.

            Re: ARMA III

Ok, so I think I've created a pretty awesome campaign for us.

            THOR'S HAMMER
--Essentially President Vladimir Putin is being a jackazz and the US has decided to invade Chernaus and smack the Russians around a bit.

--It's a campaign layout with auto generating tasks..i.e. you can play the mission 100 times and it will be different everytime based on the tactical objectives of the AI Russian and US Commanders.

--The entire map is "live"...i.e. The Russian forces are at a Battalion strength of 400 units. The US forces are of equal strength.

--Players will begin inside a Marine Corps FOB, complete with Air Support, Tanks, Jeeps, APCs, and all kinds of other toys to use.

--Missions will be generated by the system in real time based on what is going on in the virtual struggle. For example, if Russian forces are advancing on an important fuel depot, our units may be called upon to support the defense. If an M1 Tank platoon is assaulting a Russian held city, we may be called in to support the assault.

--I have it set up so that if one night we want human players controlling their own squads...they can. If we want to play with only human players in one unit...we can.

--NOTE TO PHOBIA: I am going to make a companion mission that is identical EXCEPT for the fact that I will make an identical Russian base, supports, etc. along with the US playable units, BOTH with autogenerating tasks to allow for continuous player vs player action on a very large scale and with tasks that generate based on the success or failure of the Human Russians or Human American forces.

*****DOUBLE IMPORTANT NOTE*****Everyone thank Bob aka bluengold and Bob's wife for allowing bob to buy a new gaming computer. That means that, if all goes according to plan, we will be able to use his old system as our DEDICATED ARMA SERVER. What that also means..is these "living campaigns" can be saved and basically "live" even in between sessions. I.e. the system will save our stats, what objectives we've taken, lost and we can jump into the next session and continue the war.

            So yeah...this will be fun.

So is Arma a mix between a strategy game and a shooter? I have seen in mentioned a lot lately. Watched some gameplay videos, but I have no idea what's going on.

What do you mean strategy game?

It very simple. It a ultra realistic shooter, its a flight sim, its a driving sim (to a degree), and in the broad scope its a "real life" sim

                                FYI,

I've updated the Battlefield with 2 new FOBs strategically placed on the map (along with "Camp Ryan"). We now have Camp Kollars and Camp Fortitude, complete with vehicles, ammo, and explosives.
