I captured a video of Team Throwdown for those of you who still have not played it. As you can see it definitely a nod to Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Everyone is forced to have the same loadout, kills are worth 1 point and the first team to 50 wins.

Thank you for posting this. I had not played in a month or so because of BF3 and I saw your post and wanted to try it out. Loving the gamemode so far. Was sick of all the loadouts and crap.

As you will see in the videos, all three maps are extremely fast paced. If you enjoy fast paced action, I would suggest spending the 800 Microsoft points to purchase the Majestic Map Pack in Halo 4.

Totally agree with Kev, just one quick session of about 30 minutes with the map packs was enough to let know that I will be putting this pack in the rotation to hold me until BioShock Infinite comes out.

I was only able to play 2 of the maps so far and have gotten a new favorite map from skyline. The other map I played was Landfall and it seem to be a decent 4 vs 4 map for the game.

A solid argument, but I still disagree. For me, the CRS is more than just having something to work toward. Myself, as well as friends, use it as a means of comparing skills, having immediate satisfaction after a good team win (which, if you've ever used Waypoint, you'll know will never happen, as the website is almost totally inaccessible), and lastly, it engages everyone. Just by making it only available through a website or app, you make it inconvenient (as you mentioned above) for the player. What this means is that everyone aside from the most dedicated of players isn't even going to care about the rank because they can't see it. That leads to less team player, and less of a competitive spirit.

Also, I see you mentioned that it will help the game with even matchups, but the game actually already utilizes a ranking system, it's just invisible to the player. The better you are at the game, the more likely you are to be matched up with good players.

A little late in response, but I hear you and agree with you. To be clear I in no way like that it's only going to be shown on Waypoint, but I think I can live with it. I could just see myself playing a game, then searching for the next game, opening up the waypoint app on my phone while I'm waiting and looking at my rank. Although I've never used the app so I hope it's easy and quick to use. Also just so you know you can also view waypoint on the game. Again, though, I agree with you to an extent. I don't like the idea, but I also wouldn't say having it on waypoint makes the entire thing worthless, but we'll see how it all works out in the end.

As for the current system, yes I know there is one, but I'm also not sure it's a good one. How does it even work anyways? Wins? Individual performance(k/d ratio)? Countless times I get matched with players who have no business playing against me. I have a good K/D(I think 1.5 right now) and win the majority of my games. Yet very often I get matched with players that are below even on their K/D ratio and they proceed to get dominated. lol. Unless they are somehow winning every one of their games while going super negative I don't know why they got matched with me. And vice versa... I also get matched with players who I shouldn't be playing against. The other day me and my buddy were playing doubles and we got paired with this team where each had like 20-25k kills and around 10k deaths. They must play big team all day or something. Either way we really didn't stand a chance and lost by 150 points or something.

Anyway, got the new maps yesterday. Didn't play much with them, but as of now they're all OK to me. I'm going to play more later on today though.

• Castle map pack and multi-team both come out on April 8th

• Every playlist will have a 1-50 skill rank. Even Grifball!

• Title update can change weapon damage and rate of fire on weapons

• Legendary slayer with tuned weapons coming in late spring/early summer

• New forge area with three flat islands spaces

• Forge Island is free on April 11th!

• Forge Islands are big enough to hold a remake of Blood Gulch or Hang 'Em High

I put Halo in for the first time the other day, and as me and my buddy say, like a bike. Lol. I've always been decent at Swat, but this version I'm killing it. Consistently 18+ kills to 5deaths. How is everybody doing?

Not to rain on your parade, but you are probably playing real poor opponents since 343 implemented a CSR system a month ago!
