Interesting. I haven't finished a game in years. Time constraints and loss of interest usually are the reasons.

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
Sometimes I'll play a game for a while....then get bored of it........then eventually pick it up again.
L.A Noire was like that for me. I did beat it though.
Still haven't beat Just Cause 2 though.
Never finished Demon's souls, Medal of Honor, Borderlands, Bad Company 2 (shame on me), and a few others.
But GTA IV, Oblivion, Red Dead Redemption, Brink, Fallout New Vegas, Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2, SAW I played straight through.....and Man Vs Wild with Bear Grylls........NHL - Pittsburgh Penguins
NFL - Pittsburgh Steelers
MLB - New York YankeesComment

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
Yeah when I buy a game with a story, I'll usually just finish the story and 1 of the side missions, but never all the trophies. Explains why I only had L.A. Noire for about a week. Beat the story and found all the film reels. Found no need to hang on to it. With sports games, though, I can keep playing. Franchise is 30 years, Dynasty is 60, so there are tons of opportunities to keep playing.Boston Red Sox

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
A lot of it has to do with other games that are coming out around the same time. The only game this generation that has gripped me enough to finish "quick" is the Uncharted/Gears of War series. I finished them within a few days of purchasing. There are others that I take a slower approach to. Many, that I probably will never finish because I mostly play online.Comment

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
Been getting better and better at fininshing games, but I still don't finish quite a few:
Finished these games in the last 3 months:
Batman AA GOTY
LA Noire
Witcher 1
Witcher 2
These games are in Process:
Dead Nation (really close to completing)
God of War 2 (about 50% complete)
Red Dead Redemption (about 50% complete, maybe less)
Fallout 3 GOTY (30 hours into it)
Company of Heroes (about 7 missions done)
Assassin's Creed 2 (about 5 hours into it)
Just Cause 2 (about 9 hours into it)
Battlefield Bad Company 2 (90 hours of multiplayer)
I have a huge problem. Steam doesn't help matters. I got most of these games for under $10.Comment

Usually, yes. The ones I don't tend to finish are shooters where I really want to play multiplayer."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
I finish damn near all games, storyline wise. 97% of the games I buy I beat on the 1st day. The rest usually within the 1st week of purchase.
If a game has multiple endings or multiple path ways to get to the ending, I will play it multiple times if the storyline or gameplay was good.Comment

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
Not very often anymore as idk I feel the storylines of game have gotten less interesting to me. Lately it's I just don't like it and stop playing or I play for awhile then stop for a bit and force myself to finish.
Another reason is I believe I just got older, figured out some of the stuff that used to be so great kinda wasn't, I try to focus more on what could be wrong with the game or is this really worth $60?
I beat the 1st Dragon Age, then before that you have to go back to KOTOR and FFX as the games I played non stop(no breaks of like 2-3 months)Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
For me, it varies by genre:
Sports: Never. Not that I really think it's possible to "finish" a sports game outside of career-type modes...
Action/Shooter: As long as I'm able to make it to the end - I find these to be the most challenging games I play.
Western RPG (Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, etc.): Not as often as I'd like. Usually I get too much into sidequesting and forget about the main plot.
Eastern RPG/JRPG: Highest finishing rate of all of them, usually because the stories are so engrossing - the only way I don't finish a JRPG is if I don't like the game.Comment

Re: Do You Finish Your Video Games?
Yes..well...most of the time.
Some of the games I've finished this generation:
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Red Dead Redemption
GTA IV
Mirrors Edge
Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed 2
Ghostbusters
Rainbow Six Las Vegas
Bioshock
Some of the games I haven't finished but still own and plan to:
Alan Wake
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Then there's the sports games that you can't really finish:
NHL 08, 10
Madden 11
MLB 2k10, 11
NCAA 2009
NBA 2K7
WWE SVR 11
Table Tennis
Basically, if it has a story, you have to finish it to give it a fair shake. How many times have you seen a movie that was just okay, but the ending made it memorable? Video games are the same way. Unless it is a complete pile, it's at least worth it to spend the extra couple hours to finish the campaign to see what you're missing.
I won't lie, I've had to go back and finish a couple of those after taking a significant break from them, but overall I have never regretted taking the time to finish the game.Comment
