edit: I'm in love again! haha. I still have a lot more to try, but first shot through the skull was amazing. It's a bit tough to get used to the controls though, and it seems like there are loads of enemies

Yeah I should have taken it more seriously. Starts off easy but then bam, good amount of enemies with snipers on the roof tops and inside abandoned buildings. Looks like I will be buying this game in May.

I've never heard of this series but it seems like it might me interesting. I've always sucked at being a sniper though, so I'm not sure how much success I'd have. The last similar game to this I've played was the first Operation Flashpoint which I thought was pretty cool.

you're in no rush, so in that sense you won't suck at sniping - you line it up compensate for drop and wind and get a big payoff!

Here is one thing that many people with think sucks:
enemy spawning, it's triggered by objectives - so for example you kill a few enemies, and retreat to a vantage point - there are now germans there who were apparently unaware of your shooting and exploding below not too far away. This may be because it's a demo level, but in the first game you could have a lot of freedom about where to go on a map, and it wasn't as 'hand-holding' and I felt like SOME enemies would have been spawed by certain 'triggers', but at least in this demo, they are spawned big time by your objective even right out of the gate - you can take out one guy, you go downstairs and there are 5 more in the same general area, unaware of what you did.

Now that does suck a little, but at least each 'burst' of enemies is handled well, and the payoff for making good shots is there.
In many important ways it FEELS like the first game which on its own is enough for me to buy. I can tell there will be wonky moments, but the payoffs outweight it imo.

I'm playing on Elite level.


ps. the ballistics are alone awe worthy, I shot a guy trough one cheek and out the other, knocking out his wisdom teeth and some skull matter lol - you can even see the bullet exit haha

Im digging this one a whole lot. I have played thru a few times already.
Just lined up and got a double kill with one shot it was brilliiant.

With the bonuse DLC for pre order I am definetly picking this one up.

During the last one I remember aiming for the grenade on the soldiers belt. In the demo I aimed for the soldiers head but I was way off and the slow-mo showed the grenade on his hip explode but the camera switched back to me so I could see the entire effect of the explosion.

The gameplay is a little stiff like the last one but I had a blast. This demo has convinced me that I need to buy it on launch day.

My wife was playing the demo last night on her 360 while I was trying to play TW13 on mine and I shot a poor round because I was too interested in Sniper Elite 2 LOL.

She had a devilish grin on her face when she shot a guard through the balls. She loves sniping lol. She played the demo six times at least, and the last two times on Elite difficulty. Game looks great! Looks like the controls could be a little wonky at times in trying to climb or execute stealth kills, but hopefully that gets tightened up in the final.
