Almost went and picked this up at gamestop tonight. Still wondering about the AI and how open the maps are. Can't wait to hear some impressions.

Re: Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)
Well so far, in my opinion, the single player campaign is kinda of pedestrian. Nothing amazing or awful. However I have really enjoyed the multiplayer for the PC. It really rewards being patient and strategic unlike most shooters nowadays. I was on a great server today in which everybody had mics and the whole game had us discussing strategy and how to best out maneuver our opponents. We formed a plan where one guy would run out and draw all the opposing snipers out while one teammate acted as a spotter. We managed a 8 to 1 kill ratio to beat the opposing team in the last 2 minutes. By far one of the best multiplayer experiences I have had in a while. I can see myself really getting into the multiplayer for this game. It's completely different to most shooters today.
Edit: by the way change your load out to the KAR98 for your rifle in vs. Multi player. By far the best rifle in the game.Last edited by thegut; 05-02-2012, 09:29 PM.Comment

Re: Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)
Only played single player so far(will do co-op later when brother in law grabs it)..
So far so good. The AI is "ok" but for me the fun is in how much destruction to bodies I can do. I've only done the first 3 levels also so take that into consideration. They were a tutorial "mission", then the demo mission that continues after the tank shows up and one more.
As far as being "open"..it's hit or miss so far.
I mean there were some areas that I could go around different ways but there were also many buildings that wee closed off and would have been better if they were all open. So not linear but not a total open world either. Again it may open up more later as I'm not that far.
Each mission also has "collectibles" (Gold and bottles)...something I didn't notice until after my 3rd mission.... so yeah I'll be replaying it.
It delivers fun and at 10.00 off normal pricing it's worth it for me as I prefer "lone wolf" games more and there aren't that many to choose from.
Probably the coolest thing I did so far was to take my time and get into position for a 1 shot, 2 kill moment.
So not a GOTY candidate for sure but a game worth checking out if the type of game suits you...Joshua:

Re: Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)
Ok 1 thing that really ticks me off to no end.....
Only 1 save...
I was 3 missions in and decided to go back to redo earlier missions for the collectibles and once I got past a checkpoint it overwrote my save.
Can someone with PC version let us know if thats the case on PC?
One save games really piss me off...Joshua:

Re: Sniper Elite 2 (xbox 360, ps3, PC)
To those that have this: is the full game as linear as the demo made it seem to be? I don't expect it to be GTA: Germany or anything, but I do like the ability to roam a little more than in the demo.....Either way I will be picking up my pre-order 5/5/12Comment

After 2 levels on the PC version - I would say yes. They block any attempt to "explore" with well placed boxes and building debris.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment
