Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
That still seems a bit confusing to me. What is the advantage of squad sight then if the sniper still needs to see the enemy?
I'm not understanding how the "in ally's sight" matters then.
edit: I guess from what I've been reading, Squad Sight allows the sniper to see further than usual. Correct me if I'm wrong. How I'm understanding it now is:
Imagine the room is a straight line. Without Squad Sight, the sniper may be able to fire on a target that is, let's say, 30 tiles away.
With Squad Sight and an Ally 30 tiles ahead with an enemy another 30 tiles in front of him, the Sniper can fire on an enemy 60 tiles ahead (his original 30 and the boost acquired by having his ally pretty much assist him on his shot for the final 30 tiles).
Is that how it works?
Yeah, that's it...pretty powerful, but depends on the line of sight on the level...
I don't think I've ever gotten the other sniper upgrade option, since Squad Sight is so great...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Regarding the sniper and squad sight. Just wait until late in the game when you get Archangel Armor. Then you'll see why you should always pick squad sight.Comment

I'm about to go into my first Alien Base. I've seen what it looks like. Definitely terrified for my men, but I also know I'm gonna need my A team. I don't think I will plan every move in my own life as carefully as I will for that mission."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

After spending the past couple months on Borderlands 2 (and loving it) I am finally giving this game the time it deserves. It reminds me so much of the original X-Com, which is a wonderful thing indeed. Addictive, fun and heartbreaking all rolled into one. Tremendous game, definitely a GOTY nominee for me. We'll see how Far Cry 3 turns out and I'll have to consider some earlier games as well, but this game is right up there.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Named mine after co-workers... so then I can send in the guy who only has a job because he knows the owner of the company and a better position than me (no qualifications, no business sense, no idea what hes doing) in as fodder....
nope, not bitter at all, why do you ask ?Comment
