correct, the enemy types you encounter on that mission will likely change based on what tech you have available to you.
I think I had just uncovered laser weaps and carapace like you had when I did that mission.

This game is amazing. Can't wait to see what they do with a sequel. Every choice is stressful.

Just an excellent alternative to all the other main stream drivel.

        Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown

One of my biggest gaming 'obsessions' is reloading in FPS games. Friends of mine laugh as even after using just one bullet I have to always reload. Never did I think it would go to other games but I am obsessed with reloading in this game.

My hardest missions in a TBS game since FF Tactics has been my first mission after assaulting the alien base. I have one Corporal and five rookies because the rest of my team is on IR. You really do need a deep bench the later you get into a game.

I can't wait to start another game after I finish this one and not make so many silly mistakes.

Awesome game. I quit my first game after not really understanding much. Got super attached to my soldiers but there was just way to much panic and I made a lot of bad decisions. Tried a 'Very difficult' mission and wow it was tough. Now with a little experience, hopefully I do better. Anyone have any tips on what to research first? Also, should I spread out satellites? Best strategy for that? Thanks.

Finally started playing after buying it last week.

Really like that the second mission already has differences compared to the demo.

I think because it matters now, I actually care about my soldiers. It's important to me that they survive. I'm already fearing their deaths.

Normal. Forgot to click on Iron Man but I'm saving through anyway.

I am about to embark on the Alien Base mission. I have satallite coverage everywhere except 2 places and am close to getting them covered as well. I did lose Japan.

I have plasma weapons, great armor, shivs, I am gearing up for the base invasion big time.

I encountered my first Mech.....holy crap man. Anway my ranks are deep and quite strong. I have a bad *** sniper named Rob Winters (my LF on my SUnday softball team LOL) and his is a deadly man. Plasma sniper rifle and a deadly shot.

This game is amazing. I am really looking forward to another play through on Ironman after this one is complete. There are things I would do a little different.

I do like being in North America though. Air Supremacy is great to have.

On my second play through after my first ironman was demolished by trying to do the alien base mission while somewhat inebriated.

On classic standard now and really hitting my stride this time. Just passed the base mission and have a full dossier of competent soldiers, and things generally look good in the situation room.

                Love this game.

Started my second play through now on classic ironman(first was normal ironman) and wow why a difference I've done 3 missions each one had one survivor remaining. Loving the difficultly if I make a mistake I lose someone not just lose a few health bars.

                    Crap. Made a rookie mistake.

Saw a car on fire and figured...it's just on fire. Moved a man there.

                    Car exploded.

Lost my first soldier to idiocy. Didn't know they explode on the next move. Thought they would explode instantly. Crap.

At least it wasn't my two main soldiers. But still.

RIP Rk. Jorge Moreno. You had zero kills and saw action just once. And died from an exploding vehicle.

Wow, I suck. Not sure how I managed not to get all of my soldiers out before the bomb detonated in India.

I'll say this. I'm learning on the fly and it's too bad guys have to die as a result.

The bomb situation was frustrating because I don't feel I was properly prepared for what happens.

I sent a man to disable the bomb and an option to do so never came up. Instead it was get out.

Not sure if I missed something? I'm guessing its because I dashed to the bomb and missed a turn? I'm still trying to learn how turns work.

Disarming needs a turn (or at least you need to have one open), so dashing completely ended that guy's turn so you couldn't disable it with him....

I did the first Base assault this weekend, made it through really well! I've really taken to heart to move slow and never dash unless necessary. I still sometimes lose a guy or so, and I bet I'll wipe again sometime, but overall I'm able to manage the battle well.

Try and have a lot of guys ending a turn with overwatch, then when the aliens make a move you can get some free shots in.

Thanks. I'm learning. Quickly, I think.

Just had another mission where I met whatever you call those flying aliens. Made it through without any deaths and did a pretty good job planning it out.

Had a lot of promotions after that mission which helps tremendously after losing four soldiers in that explosion. Also did another mission that landed me a Sergeant. So necessary. Quickly expanded to 5 slots.

I'm so scared to send people into the thick of the woods and somehow sending someone with them makes me feel better about it. So far it has worked.

Do Support soldiers do better with medkits? Like, should I consider them medical? Do they get upgrades to improve health for other soldiers or is that a different class?
