They're claiming that their engine can't accommodate a larger city size. As of right now, it doesn't look like it's happening.

Their claim is that a normal computer would not be able to handle larger cities. Im at the point where I would pay for a larger city though, I have a powerful PC so I know it could handle just about anything thrown at it.

Didn't you build a PC just for SimCity? Why couldn't they just put the option in, like high end graphics in most PC games, for high end PCs? I just can't believe that the game is THAT computer intense.

I did and I feel stupid for it! If they ever make a Sim City 5 or another add on, I have to believe larger cities are all but guaranteed as it was easily the #1 complaint.

Yeah, you'd almost have to purchase whatever they offered just to justify building it.

I never got it because of the small size of the city limitation... Was that ever fixed?

Same for me. I don't believe it was ever fixed.

They did a lot of stuff right, but it just wasn't enough to outweigh yet negatives for me.

This game was one of my biggest disappointments of gaming. I would wait as there are some other city building games that are coming out.

Agree 100%, it was a huge disappointment for me. I built a new PC for this game and it didn't even come close to anything I loved about SC4. Hopefully between Cities XXL and Cities Unlimited we get something good. I'm sure they'll be pretty but hopefully everything works under the hood.

I feel like the way water distribution in these sims is behind the times, cities don't usually have to worry about running out of water as they were generally settled in areas that are close to fresh water( SoCal being a exception). Personally I would like to see the problems modern cities have with water distribution, old and crumbling water lines.

Take the city I live in for example; in Syracuse the biggest problem is water main breaks in the winter. This is due to the fact that the lines are hundred of years old and cannot accommodate today's needs. Upgrading the cities water lines would cost billions so the mayor has to pick and choose what to replace and how much money to set aside each year for inevitable repairs to broken lines. A problem that could occur is a broken line in a commercial district which would anger the businesses and lower the mayor rating.
