Which problems exactly? I've been oblivious to them. I like the game and have started doing the online thing. Just hate that the online setup is crappy. Might end up with people who take up space and don't work well with what you're trying to setup. Wife loves watching me play. It reminds me the first time I started playing The Sims for hours. Discouraging that it is a small map, but I can see why they did that. They will definitely be adding that or introducing it for their next installment.

Game is what it is, most of the discontent came from reasonable expectations that the game would go in other directions than it did.

If you're having fun, enjoy it.

SC4 was a brilliant game, a great example of modding community support that extends the games life.

Skyboxer, you should check out www.simtropolis.com if you havent already.

Current "test" city. Going to be playing around with the Network Download which was highly recommended.
Nothing spectacular especially trees etc.. as I just threw down some for a guideline....but just getting a feel of layout I eventually want. My next one may be an "Island" city where each zone has it's own island plot

NAM really did extend the life of this game for me, you can really create some realistic cities with it. One of my saddest gaming moments is when I accidently corrupted a city I had saved, it was a Horseshoe shaped island city with a population close to 1M. Just talking about it makes me want to replicate it.

I feel like I should be surprised that the recent uptick in posts in this thread was because of past Simcity games rather than the current one....but I'm not.

I think my favorite of the series was 3000, actually. Probably because I had never-ending technical issues with 4 as it was quite a step up in graphics and system requirements back when it was made.

SC4 has its performance issue, My PC was chugging hard on that city I have pictures of. Back in 2003 it has almost unplayable

Drew out my plan for my real go at a whole new game. Hopefully start it within the next couple days.
Anxious to see all the new stuff from NAM addon

I always try and go a route that adds a lot of randomness to the city. Instead of an ABC build. Sometimes things work out and I am pleasantly surprised... sometimes not lol

How much closer do the Cities XL / XXL come to what we'd want from a true follow-up to the classics?
