You see, thats the challenge about it. Something can be educational and you wont even realize it.

Just a little rant of mine because after twenty years of playing video games, I'm seeing the same themes regurgitated over and over again and I'm ready for something different. Maybe video games wouldnt have the bad rep that they do outside our little inner circle of gamers if we went for something a little more towards the civil side and stop with this controversial BS.

    [censored you naughty boy] society!

I respect your opinion Sonicmage, but I play games for pure entertainment. I'm a huge fan of Horror Flicks/Games and I think this game has a very interesting concept. If a gaming company has to think about society when making games, you're pretty much taking away their freedom of artistic expression. Gaming (IMO) is an art.

Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

Yea well there are quite a few of us here who are in that same 20+ years of gaming club. I remember playing Halloween on the Atari 2600 and Friday the 13th on the NES so horror titles are nothing new. Of course using your logic we should basically get rid of most every genre of gaming. Sports gamed are regurgitated more then any of them. Platformers, adventure games, shooters, RPG's, etc, etc, etc... Been there and done all of those since I began gaming.

And I respect yours but I just dont see eye to eye with you about how deviating from the typical, mindless hack and slash somehow LIMITS artistic expression? Is button-mashing violence the only outlet for a 3d artist or animator to express himself?

I even rate Freedom Fighters at a level above the premise for this game, because that game (though remotely) at least promotes understanding the idea of teamwork for survival. So maybe it isnt just the violence factor I am talking about.

Finding out creative ways to kill the next innocent bystander doesnt exactly sound to me like anything more than a waste of time.

I'm only saying that I would like to see something different.

I get what you're saying...but atleat wait untill the game is 50% complete before it's put into the "button mash" and "hack N' slash" stereotypes.

Creatively challenging. I read through a chapter in a book on game design highlighting how Centipede came about. The creators of that game were truly brilliant. They came up with the perfect combination of features to offer the best competition for the player. Or think Tetris, beautiful in its simplicity yet addictive in gameplay. You play that game enough and you actually RAISE your IQ. How much better can you get? I'd like to see something that blows me over like that, but in a modern style.

Thisll be my last post on this because Ill save some room for anybody else who wants to talk about the game.

I just felt like saying something because I saw something resembling, "Wow, this is an interesting idea". No, its not, its just as trite as weve been seeing lately.

Makes even less sense. I know you claim to be in the industry or getting into it, but how can you say the making of a title of Campground is not challenging? You been over to Sweeden to follow the development of the game?
