Well I can tell two things....

    A) It sure as hell isnt a puzzle game

    and

    B) There is gonna be some hackin-and-slashin(and perhaps some button-mashin) going on.

What more is there to know?

And nowhere did I talk about survival horror games in general. I enjoyed the original Resident Evil a great deal. 7th Guest and 11th Hour were also well-made games but they fit themselves within the "puzzle" genre as well as the horror one, so how does that apply as an example here?

Once again since you have not played the game, you do not have any clue as to what the game will consist of. Resident Evil fits in as you talked about the "regurgitating of games" and last I checked there have been numerous Resident Evils to come out over the last 10 years.

I said I liked the "original Resident Evil", not any others afterwards. Res Evil 2 was pretty good, but it didnt have the same impact and originality as the first one, IMO.

Interseting topic going here! Now for my worthless two cents.

You are entitled to your oppionion and am in no way attacking you here. Just wanted to point out I feel in a mature non bashing way.

I personally see games like a book. My wife asks me why I don't read much and I tell her one I get bored really easily and two I feel videogames are books. You can pretend to be your favorite sports hero, race car driver, cowboy, horror movie participant, or anything you cna imagine. I use games to get away and not use my over used head. I think all day at work and at the gym and on the way home from the gym. When I get home I want to shut my brain down for an hour or so and so I plug in the PS2 and throw in a game. Not that I don't think while playing a video game.

To say no thinking occurs while playing a video game then you really have not been playing much. try playing NCAA football and reading the defense without getting sacked. Try popping in ESPN Hoops and find the open man without getting the ball swatted back in your face. I honetly feel that video games give you better quick thinking ability. No there is no proof or study to prove this that I know of but from playing video games since the Atari 2600 came out (best christmas gift ever) this is how I feel.

I do agree that gameing can get stale at times with basic repeats of old games just updated but I think it is comendable for company's like Rockstar who push the limit's to find new ways for others to enjoy themselves. Since I am a right minded non-psycho I can play a GTA game and kill 180 people for fun and then not try to emulate it in the real world. Should society be dumbed down for those that can't function? No. I agree ther should be tighter restrictions on game ratings being sold and also parents should finally take responisbility for actions of thier children. thsoe are two ways to "take violence out of childrens lives".

That's what is good about the video game industry there is a game for everyone in every genre. Don't tell me what to play or what to like it is MY choice as well as yours.

(sorry for spelling errors I wrote this quickly whiile on break)
