I feel like I need to adjust some settings, because I feel like my screens come out pretty blurry. Oh, it looks like I have DLSS on performance.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
After reading console impressions and watching videos I decided to hold off until all the jank is cleaned up and a proper next gen patch rolls out for Series X. Which is fine as I wasn’t one of eagerly anticipating the game’s release for years like other have.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
On another note, I'm really enjoying the game, just a bit overwhelming but just take a bit by bit and its opening up pretty nicely for me. I am getting pissed off that its freezing for me every time i launch this game. Hard crashes and even once where it froze my whole pc. Super annoying.
Also run into number of bugs with the camera and meeting new characters for missions and not being able to interact. Also stuff just getting stuck on the screen. Got into a car it felt like the parking break was on but it cleared out when i reversed. Just a number of annoying bugs.
As fan of Blade Runner, this is the type of game i been waiting for though.Comment

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Majority of the purchases were from people using last gen hardware. We were under the assumption it is actually playable. Lots of people are getting refunds cause of how bad it is. Dont even release it for last gen if it's this bad. I dont think you guys understand how bad it is.
With 8 million pre-sales, as CDPR announced yesterday.
I strongly assume that the game will be played mainly on the PC.
I would also simply say that the game is just too demanding for the already aging console.
GTA5 already looked like **** on last gen compared to the PC version. It's the same with a console as it is with a $500 gaming PC - you have problems with the minimum requirements of new games after a few years.
You can't expect more than 30fps with minimal details. However, if that's not even achieved, the game shouldn't have been sold for last gen, so they really have to improve it.
Has anyone else struggled with getting through the prologue? Not in terms of difficulty, just in terms of finding motivation to stick it out.
The linear structure of the prologue is expected, but the complete lack of ability to have a say in how things progress to that pre-determined path irks me probably more than it should. I also just find the entire prologue unnecessarily bloated.
Super early game spoilers for Corpo lifepath
Spoiler
Some examples of what I mean for the linear structure:
Your first task is to go talk to your boss, and he gives you a data chip hinting that he wants you to assassinate his boss. The only dialogue "option" you have is to basically try and back out of it.
Then you go meet a friend at a bar, and some corporate thugs come by to take the data chip from you. Again your only dialog "option" is to basically roll over and let them push you around.
Then there is just the fact that the prologue feels too long:
Go see boss
Go see friend at bar
Cutscene with tone that was odd for the setting
Short starter mission to get your feet wet
Long ride as the passenger, including a very brief street shootout
Go to your apartment
Go back to your friend in the garage
...and I assume one final starter mission
An hour into the game I feel like I haven't had a single decision for how I want my character to be, and the gameplay has mostly just been running from point to point.
The game just doesn't start at a pace like AC Odyssey, for example. Always remember that it is an RPG, where the story is a very important part. Look at it as if you were reading a book or watching a movie.
By the way, after 20h I'm so in. Yesterday, goosebumps moments and once really cried - if this continues, I have a new game in my all time favorite list.Last edited by jay87; 12-11-2020, 06:25 AM.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
This video is something of a caveat emptor for last gen owners...the performance issues are real.
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/C5pHpQqhmR4" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0"></iframe>
With that said, it doesn't sound like the same troubles are happening on PS5 through BC (unlocked framerate up to 60 FPS) so that will probably provide a better experience.
With the PC version that I chose to get...I'm still trying to find the right settings. I decided that it's better to go with the High w/ no raytracing preset and target 30 FPS, but I'm still getting a lot of the "blurring" that it talked about in that console video above, actually. Some of it is film grain and motion blur, but I feel like there's something else I'm missing. For max performance I can hit 60 FPS and above on those settings, but it also dips down near 30 during busy times, so I'd rather have it be stable at 30. The SSD is pulling its weight because I don't see any hitching or really obvious pop-in. It's pretty easy to see how the game would struggle without an SSD though.
As far as actually playing the game goes...I doubt I'd ever be bored with how many events there are and different ways to go about completing them. I'm trying to do a mostly stealth, hacking-based and sidearm approach and somehow I'm making it work so far. On hard difficulty it takes about 3 bullets to drop me, so I really have to a full picture of the enemy through camera surveillance and all that good stuff before engaging.
I manage a stable fps of over 60 in indoor scenes and mostly outside at the events, when the environment is more closed. Only when there is a lot of skyline or/and I'm driving, it sometimes drops to 40.
30fps would be too little for me personally, especially for gunplay 60fps are actually not enough, but I also play more aggressive. Sniper, rifle, shotgun - hold up in the order, that's usually enough for 5-7 enemies, without having to reload.
Unfortunately, I'm still not sure how I want to skill first. There are a hell of possibilities. But experimenting with it is always nice, in witcher I have also played through with three different builds, the last run then on the highest difficulty.
Think that will be similar here again.

65 to 90fps. As I said, under 60 would be too little for me and the gameplay in the fast scenes.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
A few posts back your ripping this thing complaining about dropping 80 bucks on a bug infested game.
Now you find it surprisingly good?
WTF man???
In any case.....glad I decided to cancel.
My back log is ridiculous. We can pick this up next year sometime.
But dude....your posts are highly contradictory.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
“Cyberpunk 2077” has broken the record for most players at the same time for a newly launched game on the Steam platform. The game, starring Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, reached over one million players on Steam.
With 8 million pre-sales, as CDPR announced yesterday.
I strongly assume that the game will be played mainly on the PC.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
So, the game has a lot of bugs when played on the PS4, but when played on the PS5 it's ok? This is going to be confusing for a while with everyone playing on a bunch of different systems. Lol!#LFC

we agree, nothing to defend
I am quite literally 20 minutes in. The prologue is like 6 hours I believe? Suppose I shouldn't have said so far so good. I haven't encountered anything cause I've yet to do anything.. I have yet to even shoot a gun. I bought the game I figured I would try it. My good friend played it yesterday and he said it was one of the worst games he had ever played in terms of bugs and graphical glitches.
We shouldn't make a bug report here either, CDPR surely has other channels for that. The game can also be compared wonderfully across all platforms, if you leave the technical aspects out of it.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I was going off the internet.. digital foundrys tech review on base console which was horrendous to say the least, they said just wait if you can. I did buy the game but was holding off cause I have other games to play that are in a more playable state. For some reason some people are saying it's fine on their base console so I decided to give it a try. I will post MY impressions tonight.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
On PC it has been running great for me, but I'm 8700K and 3080I have noticed some odd design decisions though and some confusing missions (Get your Gun, anyone).
One of the oddest is that they don't have Toggle for ADS (Aim down Sights) on PC. This has basically become a staple on the PC for every game, and for that reason alone, I had to go with the controller for now.
Stuff like that after 8 years of development is odd.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Wow!!! Well hopefully they get it all cleaned up and next year I can dive in. I am huge Blade Runner fan and have been eagerly awaiting this game.
But the bugs make it easy to wait.
Good luck on your first play through.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I saw a dude up against a vending machine and I immediately thought it was an animation bug. A few minutes later I walk by the same vending machine and the dude is right up against it in what I assumed was an awkward animation or clipping issue. So I looked at the vending machine and there were holes in it at waist level then I looked at some of the pictures on the vending machine.
Let's just say I don't think it was a bug anymore. I'll just say those are some interesting services that vending machine was delivering.Last edited by bhurst99; 12-11-2020, 02:26 PM.Comment
