A game shouldn't release this unplayable. I dropped 80 bucks on this to wait for ANOTHER patch to play it lol.

Has anyone else struggled with getting through the prologue? Not in terms of difficulty, just in terms of finding motivation to stick it out.

The linear structure of the prologue is expected, but the complete lack of ability to have a say in how things progress to that pre-determined path irks me probably more than it should. I also just find the entire prologue unnecessarily bloated.

Has CDPR mentioned anything about when they are expecting to have the next-gen upgrade/update? I know, "next year," but are we talking January or July?

I don’t believe they’ve announced which leads me to believe we are talking months rather than weeks.

Yea I think months is more appropriate. They have lots of optimizing to do on current gen console's.

Guess I'll be optimistic and say I think we see it first quarter of 2021. I think they long ago outgrew the capabilities of last gen. So having to go back and make it run on older consoles might have been a bigger undertaking than what's needed for any optimizations/improvements that might come with the upgrade for new consoles.

Majority of the purchases were from people using last gen hardware. We were under the assumption it is actually playable. Lots of people are getting refunds cause of how bad it is. Dont even release it for last gen if it's this bad. I dont think you guys understand how bad it is.

Fortunately my Amazon order never came today....I was just able to cancel it.

I don’t want to get pissed off at a bug fest game.

Will wait a while and hopefully they get all the bugs out by next year.

It's crazy how much detail there is in the city even with something mundane as garbage and the interior of a broken down car. There's so much going on in the city that sometimes I just pause and listen to the city and take in the advertisements and the people walking down the street who all seem to be unique.

I bought this on a whim, and not knowing all that much going in, and I love it.

I usually don't play RPG's or action RBG's But this is definitely not just that. So I think I will spend a lot of time with it.

Oh, I didn't see a single bug in the almost 3 hours that I played. I'm on XSX.

You should be fine on the series x. This game looks like it's a masterpiece for rpg fans. I have started it, and so far so good surprisingly. Nonetheless this game is making me want a ps5 asap. I'm on base ps4.

A few posts back your ripping this thing complaining about dropping 80 bucks on a bug infested game.

Now you find it surprisingly good?

                            WTF man???

In any case.....glad I decided to cancel.

My back log is ridiculous. We can pick this up next year sometime.

But dude....your posts are highly contradictory.

I watched a video that said the trash actually is stuff from the game instead of just generic trash.

This video is something of a caveat emptor for last gen owners...the performance issues are real.

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/C5pHpQqhmR4" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

With that said, it doesn't sound like the same troubles are happening on PS5 through BC (unlocked framerate up to 60 FPS) so that will probably provide a better experience.

With the PC version that I chose to get...I'm still trying to find the right settings. I decided that it's better to go with the High w/ no raytracing preset and target 30 FPS, but I'm still getting a lot of the "blurring" that it talked about in that console video above, actually. Some of it is film grain and motion blur, but I feel like there's something else I'm missing. For max performance I can hit 60 FPS and above on those settings, but it also dips down near 30 during busy times, so I'd rather have it be stable at 30. The SSD is pulling its weight because I don't see any hitching or really obvious pop-in. It's pretty easy to see how the game would struggle without an SSD though.

As far as actually playing the game goes...I doubt I'd ever be bored with how many events there are and different ways to go about completing them. I'm trying to do a mostly stealth, hacking-based and sidearm approach and somehow I'm making it work so far. On hard difficulty it takes about 3 bullets to drop me, so I really have to a full picture of the enemy through camera surveillance and all that good stuff before engaging.
